Guest guest
I have a couple of questions. Firstly, since being diagnosed with diabetes I have been plagued abcesses. The antibiotics work for a while but they always come back. I do all the right things health wise too. What are the best natural antibiotics. Also since Ive been on the diet im on of lots of raw stuff, leafy greens, lots of water etc, I expected not to get colds and stuff - but here I am sneezing away! I was hoping to be healthier. Any ideas. Thanks in advance Lynda
Guest guest
Hi Lynda, Are you taking any diabetic meds? Or over the counter medications? Abscesses can sometimes be a sign that your body is trying to get rid of something. Taking antibiotics can treat the symptom, but not the cause. Candida overgrowth can sometimes be a possible cause. I am no expert on candida. Check thru the archives for more info. I have been dealing with skin problems from eczema to psoriasis for mot of my life. Getting off sugar & carbo grains helped a lot. Then I discovered the difference between omega 6 and omega 3 oils & how modern diets have far too much omega 6 oil. So I zapped all the canola & corn oil, and supplemented with flax seeds and then added flax seed oil. Most of my skin problems went away unless I get too much sunlight. And even that is getting better. If at all possible, switch to all organic food, especially meat & dairy. Although not specifically related to abscesses, most diabetics are severely deficient in vitamin C. Taking vitamin C to bowel tolerance is a good idea for anyone, and especially so for us diabetics. Many healthy people seem to need 6-10 grams of C a day, but I have to go to about 30 grams a day before my body starts rejecting it. Below is a link to a simple guide for taking vitamin C to bowel tolerance written by an MD. http://doctoryourself.com/titration.html If the abscesses are caused by some bug in your system, upping your dose of daily C will help your body to deal with it. If you do decide to do C to bowel tolerance, let us know how much your system wants before it tells you to back off. Guest guest
Most diabetics need thyroid meds like Armour, not synthetic.
