To join, just send an e-mail to: Reiki_On- or visit their hompage at Reiki_On and take a closer look before you join. I originally paid for Reiki lessons and the attunements. They teach you a lot on the Reiki_on list for free. Diane Stine has a great book out called essential reiki. It was the one my reiki master teacher recommended to me.. I feel the attunement should be done in person and it is done by a reiki master. My RMT told us that if we were there to be attuned, we already have been (in some lifetime or another) so any attunement is actually a re-attunement : ). I am sure some were healers in their past life but not necessarily reiki practioners. maybe because they were healers though that they are drawn to reiki now.
