The NFP (Natural Family Planning) method is very accurate when followed properly. It has to do with charting cervical mucous, temperature taking every morning at the same time, etc. Basically the woman being Very aware of what her body is doing at different points of the month. There are websites now that help keep charts, have explanations of all the terms, etc. NFP and other similar methods are great for avoiding pregnancy as well as getting pregnant.

One of the best known books on this subject is "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" (I've fogotten the author, sorry). I loaned this book to my chiropractor's wife (who hadn't been able to get pregnant in 2 years) and within 2 cycles she was pregnant :-) My La Leche League leader has avoided pregnancy using NFP for Years.

Someone also mentioned using herbs to prevent conception. The only one I know of is Wild Mexican Yam, which is very high in natural progesterone. The only problem *I* personally see with going this route, would be that the woman is Still using hormones to _change_ her cycles to prevent conception.

Condoms are still the "safest" route, as in, not taking hormones to change the cycles. The cervical cap & diaphram work well, as long as the spermicidal jelly is used with. Depo Provera, any form of the pill, and other similar chemical versions cause So Much damage to a woman's body it's not even funny (cancers, liver failures/diseases, etc.).

Im going to jump in here and im not an expert so know this is my own oppinion. When a couple first meets nature makes us release a chemical where we get aroused to the person we are with. Nature does that so the pair will be attracted to each other and reproduce. When you are together for years, the chemical stops because in nature its no longer needed. Its natural the way the body works. You and your mate have found each other, the attraction is no longer needed yet you or him can be attracted to someone new. This is why people cheat and resort to watching porn.

But sex is also a visual and mental thing and if you use new ideas to stimulate each other you can get the sparks flying again. Many people tend to get lazy and just not try to make sex good again and this is not a good thing to do. So open your mind, use your imagination and tell your husband to do the same. Actually one person will have to make the first move. Do things that you normally wouldnt do before, suprise him. Im not really talking about romantic but more sexually. Hope this helped. I read an article on this awhile ago and it stayed in my mind. I find things like this very interesting and I am married for a bit over 11 years. I have sex apx. 4 times a week unless something stressful happens or something to that effect. I dont believe a person should allow their relationship get to the point where their mate can no longer look at them as an attractive sexual person. Have fun : )

My libido is pretty low, or I just am no longer attracted to my mate. Anyone? We have sex about once a week, sometimes twice but it is pretty rare

Ok, will do. I am really looking foward for some advice because right now I use spermicide and lord knows what its doing to me. For some reason I feel like taking the pill isnt a good idea because I would be messing around with my hormones and that isnt good. Nothing is with out risk and I want something that is.

I've also heard of that method as the "rhythm method", but in my family we call it "Jeff" (my little brother!) LOL!!

Anyway, I have another question about this - I haven't used condoms in years, but last time I checked, they're all coated with spermicidal jelly. Also, the jelly is used with other methods, like the diaphragm (which is what I use now). I have strong concerns, especially after doing the cleanse twice now, about putting that toxic goo inside my body. Does anyone have any data on this stuff? I would very much like to get more info on this.

Thanks :)

Marilyn and I have been together for almost 8 years, married for almost 5. And Travis is 6. We are very active, with at least some sort of physical/sexual intimacy just about every day/night, seldom less than 3-4 times a week. Not always intercourse and not always to "completion", but we try to at least let the other know that we love and adore each other, even in physical ways, still.

LOL, but i'm sure there must be some takers.

Well put Sammy...

Love making can be wonderful for a lifetime if both people want it that way. My parents always were romantic, intimate, crazy!!! In the bedroom... They just loved each other and being close. They were awesome together...

Yes.

And this should apply to any ingredient that was highly acid as well.

Spermatozoa does not do well in an acid environment. Then again, neither do the rest of us. ;o)

YES get off birth control!

How about... the synthetic hormones are KNOWN carcinogens? Does that

convince you?

Here is a great article about what the pill has done to us. It shocked me!

There are ways to support your body to make the transition easier. I would

Hi Dede,

Thanks for replying. I will be 40 in August. I am really freaked out. I

have decided to stop the pill. I am a bit freaked out though as to the side

effects of coming of it as well as how do I detox from it....

thanks again!
