People often depend on painkillers for temporary relief and carryon with their everyday Chores till their pain become unbearable. Arthritis may be inflammatory or degenerative due to old age and other factors. In this Processes the intra articular cartilages get damaged and the synovial fluid which offer a Cushion effect for the joints gets dried up. In these the patients suffers from severe pain While walking at rest oedema in foot in some cases swelling and burning sensations on The joints. In Ayurveda these may be referred to as Amarvata, Vata rakta , Sandhivata according To the symptoms and doshas involved. The causes include a variety of factors such as climatic conditions, improper exercises, improper food, etc. Ayurveda offers a wide range of therapies, which gives a slow but permanent relief From the diseases. Some of the therapies, done in our center for arthritis are explained below ABHYANGAM AND SWEDANAM Which includes massage in specific manner with suitable medicated oils o the affected part and giving steam to that area to make the oil get completely adsorbed by the skin. PIZHICHIL This is a therapy where cloth soaked in luke warm oil is squeezed to make the oil fall in uniform stream over the affected part. PATRA POTAL SWEDWNW CHOORNA PINDA SWEDA AND JAMBEERA PINDA SWEDA Externally these therapies help to looses stiff joints, clear toxins, nourishes the tissues and increases the local circulation so that reduces the pain.
