Guest guest
Well, I guess I am lucky in that my water comes from a wel that serves abt 24 other homes in theis developement. It has never had to or needed any thing added to make it safe to us. I boil it in my stainless Steel Rena Ware kettle for 10 minutes or longer with lid on, then put in my tea bags. after 9 days it tasted good with carbonation and no vinigary taste at all. It was not more on the sweet side than not, just like apple cider with a little bubbly from carbonation. I had just got my culture from a lady close by abt 30 miles in mail. I just got my first batch of 2 jars on tue. and now have 1 left to check again tomorrow. Also Have 4 more batches going several with experimental sweetner and tea. Have had it to drink now for 5 days . My spouce , Will, says he believes he is already getting ride of some poisons and feel better than before. Will be increasing amount tomorrow. The Water thing must be good for this and I don't have to buy the store Water, some of which i am sure isn't properly as they claim. I was told by a person who came and tested my water from my faucet that it was exceptionaly good water and doen't need anything to make it any better. he even took several more test from it and was all same. It is the purest water available...>> Volatile compounds in water, such as chlorine disinfection by-products (trihalomethanes), will convert to steam and recondense with the " pure " water. One would require an activated carbon filter after distillation to remove these compounds. Trihalomethanes (THMs) cause colon and bladder cancer and are found in every municipally-disinfected water supply system. Because THMs are volatile at room temperature (will evaporate with or without heating), leaving an open picture of water in the fridge or on the counter-top at room temperature overnight allows the THMs to evaporate.
