I would add a few drops to the aloe vera gel and blend. As for the tea question, water will blend into aloe vera gel. I have done this to make an aloe lotion before with waters and oils. If you have a hand mixer or regular blender put in some aloe gel, some of the tea, and blend. If the gel turns out too watery for you , add more gel. However, the gel really DOES absorb a lot. It's really neat Try keeping it blending for a minute or two to evenly distribute. After that add which essential oils you would like and bottle up or put in a covered container. As a tea though remember it can go bad and wont last indefinitely. So blend up small batches at a time. For aloe liquid, thats a different story. Just combine the 2 and apply as a liquid with a q tip but I like the gel idea better. Would stay on longer and soothing. Erin
Guest guest Report post Posted May 17, 2003 Stress, eating something i.e. salt, pickle juice, coke, anything that you don't normally eat, usually a salty thing... or in my case... I had surgery on my knee... and all the drugs and the fact that when I awoke - for some strange reason I wanted a coke...of all the strange things.. I haven't drank coke in years... well, the combo of the surgery, drugs, and coke gave me a hell of a sore on my lip... took me a week to get rid of it... Guest guest Report post Posted May 17, 2003 Hi Ilana, I check in every now and again to read what's going on with the list-and as a fellow cold sore sufferer- I can tell you that nothing beats lemon balm (melissa officinalis)! I make an lemon balm infused olive oil, and then add a couple of drops of lemon balm essential oil, thicken with beeswax and it is the BEST! I put it on as soon as I feel that " tingle " that signals a breakout approaching, and re- apply whenever I think of it. My customers love it also, and I work with one woman who has herpes simplex II (genital herpes), and SHE says it has worked on the sores she gets on her backside.... I tend to get cold sores when my system is stressed, or if I am run down. I had some surgery in 1999, and my system reacted with not one, but three all at once! I was still in the hospital when this happened, and didn't have my salve with me- but started immediately when I got home. Cleared them up in nearly no time- but dang, I was ugly! Good luck, Julie Woodsong Herbals

It may help better than just alone, to make it as a sort of gel to carry aroudn the house or where ever. You could add the tea tree oil to that as well. Or just add lemon balm eo if you have it in place of the tea to the gel. Lavendar oil may be another option. Erin Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. One week soaking in a bath of epsom salts took away warts with no pain. They were on his fingers. Guest guest Report post Posted February 2, 2004 tessa, all i use the few times i get one is the fresh jel from inside an aloe vera leaf. i just take a steralized needle and break the blister and rub the jell into it and leave the jell on as long as it will stay then put some more on. i can tell when one is fixing to erupt so i catch it just as it starts the blister and the aloe stops it in its tracks! i only get one if my system is run down for some reason which in my case is if my feet get really cold for an extended period of time. be sure your feet are kept warm. as you know, the herpes is a virus and when the system is in good condition, it remains dormant. but if your system is a bit below par, it will wake up and attack. sounds wierd, but true. i seldom get one like i say unless i get a reall bad chill like hypothermia. love.. grany lee. herbal remedies , " Tessa " <puppycat@t...> wrote: > Ok, anyone with thoughts feel free. Guest guest Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Taking a lysine supplement will help prevent them and shorten healing time. You can also do this by eating a diet high in lysine containing foods and low in arginine containing foods. Guest guest Report post Posted September 1, 2005 My first claim to fame with this natural healing was Cayenne Tincture made with Habenaro that my father made. I put it on a cold sore at the very start of it when you can just feel the bump and the very next day it was scabbed over, it has worked that way for everyone that has tried just for that reason. I dont know is the tinctures in the store are as strong if your not going to make it and are interested go to Dr Schulze's site www.herbdoc.com . Guest guest Report post Posted September 1, 2005 The cold sore is a member of the herpys family like chicken pox> I also get bad ones but have not since I started taking Wild oragano oil and at the first sign of one coming I start to apply it to my lip kills it dead. Apply it as often as you can be careful not to touch the dropper to your lip it could contaminate the whole bottle. Put a drop on your finger and rub it on being sure to wash hands and perticularly that finger with soap if you don't and happen to rub your eye it will sting like crazy. Guest guest Report post Posted September 1, 2005 The best thing I have ever used for cold sores is..... VANILLA extract. Just make sure it's the pure kind, and not imitation. I don't know how or why it works...maybe the vanilla, maybe the grain alcohol, but either way, it works. As soon as you feel the cold sore coming on, dab a bit of the vanilla onto the sore with a Q-tip, and do this two or three times a day. I have never had a cold sore to break all the way out when using this. It's usually gone within two to three days. Hope this helps a bit. I know it doesn't 'cure' the cause of the sore, but at least it will help keep them from getting so bad.
