need energy in the middle of the day

I have had some recent changes to my life and am staying up for more hours

of the day than usual as well as getting up much earlier in the morning

(ack!). I have found that from about 2pm until sometime after supper I have

a terrible time with energy. I just feel so drained and exhausted. Taking

a little nap doesn't really seem to help any with this. Later, though, I'll

feel just fine and actually have a little bit of trouble going to sleep at

10 or 11pm. I don't drink coffee and consume very little, if any, caffeine.

I was just wondering if there was something I could take or something I

could do to help me not be so exhausted in the middle of the day. I should

explain that I am recovering from 5 months off from work due to a car

accident related back injury which is healed enough for me to go back to

work. I still have pain, it's just managable with rest and medicine. Since

returning to work, I've also started exercising more and am setting the

alarm to wake me at 5:30 am (instead of waking up whenever my body tells me

to). I don't like getting up that early. Never have been a morning person.

But getting up that early is necessary if I'm going to have time to do my

devotions in the morning before going to work and I really, truly need to do

those then (it's simply the best time of day for it and gives me a good

start emotionally). Any ideas or suggestions?
