Precisely what I have been trying to teach in my practice (for the past 15 years) and on my interactive website at askwaltstollmd.com (for the past 8 years). We call it serious wellness (the 3 legged stool). The human bodymind is still the most sophisticated invention on the planet. It's capacity for healing is at least 10 times what we think of as " normal " --which is really just " average " . I am sure you have heard the predictions for years that we only use less than 2% of our brains. Well the same is true of our bodyminds. You (and she) are on the right track. However, just because she is doing fine now is the very reason why you should never stop learning. As she ages (and thus her capabilities gradually reduce) her chances of having this recur are much greater than the average population. She has already demonstrated that by having this happen to her so early in life. There is much more for all of us to learn about the capacity of the bodymind, and its ability to heal itself, than has yet been discovered. You both already know a lot more than ALL of her conventional physicians who you have been paying.
