By sincerely observing the ekadasi vratham for Lord Narayana, one win His grace and attain moksham. From what I have learnt, pradosham is a kalam which comes every trayodasi (it comes twice a month, one each in krishna paksham and one in sukla paksham). Pradosham is a time period which lasts a total of 180 minutes (90 minutes before sunset and 90 minutes after sunset). This time is considered to be very sacred in performing the worship of Lord Siva and His family of Goddess Bhagavathy, Lord Ganapathy, Lord Karthikeyan and Nandhi. In temples, abhisegham to Lord Siva is perfomed and an elaborate puja is perfomed to Siva parivaram. Japam, dhyanam and mounam (silence) are recommended during pradosham. Ardent devotees of Lord Siva observe a fast every trayodasi and break their vratham after the pradosha kala puja is completed. During or after sunset). The Lord of 13th Trayodashi Tithi is Kaama Deva whereas the Lord of the succeeding Tithi i.e. 14th Chaturdashi is Lord Rudra (Shiva) himself. The 14th day of the dark half of every month – is called Sivaratri or Masa – sivaratri. The one in the month of Magh (Feb-Mar) is called Mahasivaratri, since it is the greatest of all.Mala Mukherjee--- On Sat, 2/5/09, bhagvatjee <bhagvatjee > wrote:bhagvatjee <bhagvatjee >[om_namah_shivaya_ group] Re: Pradoshom_namah_shivaya_ group@ s.comDate: Saturday, 2 May, 2009, 3:04 AMDear dmparyaniAum Namah ShivaayaPlease go the following link and read about Pradosh.
