Though this mail was addressed to Wendy, can I please add something

to it?

 

The opposition and mutual aspect of Saturn and Sun is more

indicative of trouble with father or father figure.

 

Trouble with his own father was always there but just observe the

trouble with the father figure-Rev Jeremiah Wright ( hope I got the

name right!)

Neena, if I could just add to what I said previously about this ME/SU

combination in B.O's chart.

i.e. Budha-Adhitya Yoga:

 

What strengthens the intellectual/academic nature as far as B.O. is

concerned is the fact that 9th lord Mercury, combust Sun, is also lagna

karaka Sun's nakshatra lord. 9th, as we know, governs higher education,

professional training etc.. So there's no problem recognising the

intellectual achievements of B.O., nor his academic career with this

combination aspecting 1st/2nd lord Saturn in lagna.

 

However I do still maintain that Mercury (27% combust) can indicate poor

judgement in regards to friends and acquaintances. We have to agree that

some of his friends/associates have been linked strongly to activities

represented by 8th house...this cannot be denied! Nor can we deny his

association with questionable religious leaders...9th lord combust 8th

lord Sun.

Mercury alone or with a natural benefic, as we know, is benefic by

nature. He assumes a malefic disposition when joined with a natural

malefic. As you've pointed out Mercury is never far away from Sun and,

because of this, he would always be a participant in either

budha-adhitya, vesi or vosi yoga. Therefore I can't see how his

significations could be considered weak simply because he was in a house

next to Sun rather than conjunct?

 

I would like to have your opinion on this if time allows :-)

Hi,

 

All planets are weak in combustion but Mercury is an exception.

Mercury is quite close to Sun most of the time and as such its

likelihood of being combust is a very very common occurence.

In fact the combination of Mercury and Sun gives a sharp intellect

and analytical abilities.

Hence , a brilliant academic career and also his ability to run a

brilliant campaign.

 

In fact , Mercury alone in a sign shows a certain weakness as far as

the significations of the planet are concerned.

PS: And not forgetting, of course, SU/ME's dispositor (Moon) exalted in

5th house of intellect, creative intelligence; and Mercury's exaltation

in navamsha. The combination of all these show Obama's intellectual

I do hope I haven't upset you too much with my choice of words. The fact

is that when I looked at your photograph I recognised the Capricorn

features immediately, and this was what led me to Obama's chart...I

certainly didn't mean to offend!

 

PS: I've put a new album in our " Photos " section featuring well-known (to

us) Capricorns. Note Srila Prabhupada particularly. With no aspects on

lagna or lagnesh he clearly expresses the Capricorn features. In my case,

for instance, features can (appear) less prominent from time-to-time due

to Jupiter's aspect adding fullness...excess weight :-(
