Dear Vyas,

The longevity of any individual is difficult to gauge exactly, let alone having

to do as such for someone else based on a chart other than their own.

Judging from the transits on 4/30/1964, Leo ascendant gives us better

indications for the passing of the father. Natal L9 was under the close

affliction of the nodes. Transit L9 had come under the influence of the natal

nodes. The final trigger may well have been the influence of transit MMP Moon on

natal L9. Plus the nodal sub and main period were running, which adds an extra

dose of malefic relevance to the natal and transit L9.

Both the 4th and 9th houses have a role to play with regards to parents. Though

they are skewed to one parent respectively, there is overlap.

The 8th house first and foremost gives obstructions. It is a malefic house. The

obstructions given by the house can lead one to pursue mysticism, religion,

occult, etc. to find meaning in life.

As for Saturn, the influence can be there in both charts. Since his views on

childbirth are on the restrictive side, I think it is reasonable to see a strong

Saturnian influence on the 5th and 2nd houses.

He seems to have en extremely pragmatic, emotionally detached mental approach to

life. The 5th and 2nd houses strongly influence one's intelligence. The

numbers drive him-- luxuries, pleasures, and enjoyments play no role whatsoever.

Saturn and Mercury would be the influences at work here, along with Mars. Strong

Mars-Saturn-Mercury is a combination for fantastic technical mastery.

One can argue that an Aquarius native would be spiritualized as well, with the

strong L1 Saturn ruling the religious traits of Saturn, the strong 5th house,

the strong 8th house, and the strong Sun/Jupiter. Perhaps not to the same extent

as Leo. The Aquarian would be drawn to mystical knowledge in this case.

Buffett's father was a prominent, successful figure. His father was himself into

the investment business. So, it is reasonable to say that Buffett's father

played a sizeable role in shaping his child's earlier years of life, which in

turn contributed to the latter's line of work and huge successes down the road.

The role of the father is larger in the Leo chart. There is a passing of the

torch in the case of Leo that I don't see as strongly with Aquarius.

transferred to the 9H. "

{both 5 & 9 very strong in Leo chart, lots of bhakti}

The Leo chart has too much religious morality to it to justify atheism,

funding of pro-abortion programs and population control, and longelivity of

father compared to mother. Weak LO9 in the Aq chart fits better.

It is not that. I am talking about the likely source of his views-- what his

motivation for having them really is.

The house of mental inclinations is the 5th house. Strong Saturn's close

influence on the 5th house, on the alternate house of children the 2nd, and

on the lord of the 2nd Mercury are what contribute to his restrictive

'scarcity of resources' thinking.

Saturn's influence is more profound here on his mental inclinations as it is

placed in the 5th house, and imparts its influence on/from there.

Dear Vyas,

The big thing with Mr. Buffett is his loyalty to economics above all else.

Economics is his religion.

His views have more to do with what is best for the world economically

speaking than they do with any kind of anti-religious sentiment.

Astrologically speaking, the Sun and Jupiter should be looked at above both

the 5th and 9th houses individually, as both have to do with the issue of

children/progeny as well as morality and generosity.

The close influence of strong but restrictive in nature Saturn on the 5th

house, 2nd house, and 2nd lord contribute to these views. The 5th house

also

represents one's inclinations, and a strong Saturnian influence along with

its placement there can lead to a long-lasting mental and emotional imprint

there.

As you have mentioned the 8H Me and Ve-Ke conj, it wouldn't put it past

anyone in this line of work to have strong significations for the 6th

sense/precognition. In fact, it's almost a requirement from what I've

seen.

Sometimes I just randomly wake up at the perfect minute only to get

onboard

fantastic trades, or I get tremors in my body when I am on the wrong side

of

the market or about to do something that I will not be happy with. I know

some of the best traders and they all have good strength in this area more

than the average person.

Dear Vyas,

When both the Sun and Jupiter are strong, 9th house issues can made up for

to a good extent.

I've seen charts where L9 is badly placed or afflicted and the strength of

Sun and/or Jupiter have acted as nice balancing factors.

Population control and abortion are more 5th house issues than 9th house

issues.

One doesn't have to be an athiest to support such stances. He seems to be

driven by economic principles above anything else.

L9 in the 8th and conjunct Ketu would give him an interest in the

mystical/occult, especially with the dispositor Mercury strong and in the

8th house itself.

The proclamation of being an athiest saves him the trouble of answering any

touchy religious questions.

Plus he can champion any and all causes without having to deal with the

religious side of things, or having religious groups nagging at him.

He may be doing it more as a matter of convenience and to be politically

correct (in a roundabout way).

I'm leaning towards Leo ascendant for the following reasons:

(a) It is the only ascendant that gives us no bad placements of any of the

9

planets on 8/30/1930.

(b) He looks like a Leo who would be having the Sun closely influencing the

ascendant. He has a wide face with stronger than average facial bone

structure. He has a broad, strong forehead. These are Sun-inspired

physical

traits.

ample strong close influences on them. All of these houses can bless

one

with financial gains when strong. The incredible strength of the 2nd

house

stands out the most.

(d) The Sun is strong, L2 is strong, and L9 is strong. The strong L2 and L9

act like a Sun. Both L2 and L9 are strongly influencing the 2nd house

of

status and wealth, along with there being the influence of the strong

Sun

on

the ascendant itself! This is an incredibly powerful chart.

(d) He chooses to live frugally, which is a trait inspired by the heavy

Saturnian influence on L2 and on the 2nd house. The prime

significator

for

assets here is Mercury. Mercury is a planet that lives humbly, along

with

Saturn. The weakness of and close affliction to Venus contribute as

well,

along with the weakness of the 12th lord, Moon.

(e) The weakness of and close affliction to L3 Venus accounts for his fear

of public speaking.

My dear Esteemed Professor and Vyas,

Leo ascendant folk (myself included) have a unique look, especially when

the

Sun influences the ascendant or 2nd house (face) closely.

One can expect a wider face with strong bone structure therein. The nose

may

be prominent and somewhat wide.

Mr. Buffett also has a strong forehead, which is consistent with other

Leo's.

Hence my initial assessment was Leo. Being one, I know one when I see one

My dear Esteemed Professor and Vyas,

Leo ascendant folk (myself included) have a unique look, especially when the

Sun influences the ascendant or 2nd house (face) closely.

One can expect a wider face with strong bone structure therein. The nose may

be prominent and somewhat wide.

Mr. Buffett also has a strong forehead, which is consistent with other

Leo's.

Hence my initial assessment was Leo. Being one, I know one when I see one

Dear Vyas,

Glad to help if I can. I am at work, so it will take a while. Also, the book

doesn't always list exact dates. The date for the father's passing is as Arun

said, 4/30/1964. I believe went by the 1966 date in the list

provided in examining the father's death. Some significant dates I found so

far- Father's bank closed and he last job and all savings- Aug 13, 1931 in

Omaha, Nebraska. Family fortunes improved gradually and they moved into a

bigger home when Warren was 6. Older sister born in 1928-no date. Younger

sister is 3 years younger than Warren, no date. Married- 3rd Saturday in April,

1952- Omaha, Nebraska. Gained control of Berkshire/Hathaway at a board

meeting-May 10, 1965, Bedford Massachusetts, becoming chairman of the executive

comittee and installing Ken Chace as president. I'll have more later-
