I reiterate, Chandrasekaran ji :-)

You are thinking of the doctor and modern medicine as it is in current times!

But let us say in 1700s. There were doctors then too and more patients

understandably died back then. If they had given up continuing to learn from

their failures and their dead, would you be able to post your message, with the

same conviction, to which I am responding now?

Dear Dada,

Not quite identical as analogies go, but didn't Hitler try that (not jyotishis

but astrologers!) or something similar? Look where he ended up! ;-)

Vinay ji,

As far as I am concerned, Jyotish is being rediscovered and reconstituted in

modern times. Hence a posteriori (I hate the term postmortem, although in the

case of the recent AirFRance crash it is somberly appropriate) examinations must

not be pooh-poohed upon by anyone, no matter how illustrious or respected on

Internet or wherever!

The only person who can criticise what you attempted to do, in your analysis

should be one who has DEMONSTRATED their mettle by having predicted similar

disasters in a documented manner. It does not have to be an airline disaster but

disaster of similar magnitude.

And if one is not forthcoming with documented citations (their own and not

predictions by Prof. this or that or Mr. This or that!), then I do not see why

anyone should criticise your postings where you discuss astrological cases, like

you have done for the Airline disaster.

One can discuss, and respectfully disagree with your delineations or

astrological reasoning, but it would be hypocritical for anyone to question your

posting just because it was done a posteriori, after the fact! Astrological

magazines and books are full of such writings and truth be told, I see no reason

why you should be attacked or criticised for posting your a posteriori findings!

If I am mistaken and I am in a forum which is bristling with Jyotishis who have

predicted such disasters, please step forward, provide your track record and

citations and I shall stand corrected :-)

unreal bad astrologer. Can Chandrasekharanji show us how an astrologer can keep

track of so many flights and make predictions about them single-handedly ? And

even if someone accomplishes this Herculean task, which airliner would have

heeded his/her predictions ? AF447 took off in Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra when

aircrafts, trains and ships. They lack the infrastructure scientists possess. As

a result, this field has not been thoroughly investigated by astrologers in a

concerted manner. To be frank, no astrologer can predict such mishaps with

certainty because the method is too complicated to allow predictions by

indivuduals. We need some simple method which could allow an individual to

monitor and predict crashes. This calls for research. Research cannot be carried

out without post-event analysis.

it is unreal and bad astrology is nothing but a call for ban on all research in

the field of astrology. I was apalled ay " laughing " of some members at my

attempts to understand and explain a tragedy which claimed 228 lives. These

fellows cannot find fault with my approach, and cannot put forth any alternative

approach, they can only deride and belittle attempts by someone to explain the

tragedy.

forthcoming crashes, if he is a " actual " and " real " and " good " astrologer ??

support, which scientists possess, while astrologers " laugh " at each other. It

is saddening to not that these fellows are merely trying to bury and divert the

issue : the main issue is that astrologers need a clear methodology which anyone

could use for predicting crashes with a fair degree of reliability. Instead of

throwing light upon this cardinal problem, these fellows are burying this topic.

If my approach is faulty, which they laugh at without pointing at the lapses, if

any, why they do not come up with alternative approaches ? Are they not

interested in finding out the means to predict crashes ? If they do not know how

to predict, why others cannot carry out the research ?

Mr. Vinay,

I was not laughing at your methods. I was not laughing at your research. I

was not laughing at you. One should first understand the " known " and then

try to understand the unknown. There is no doubt at all.

All astrologers fail in their predictions. The issue is one should accept

the failures. That is all.

Regards, C.S. Ravindramani.

If I can add my 2 cents.

I agree with your first line... That it is important for us to predict

the events in advance...

However, for students of Astrology, Post Morten analysis is an excellent

learning.

One practice that we have is to time and again peep into the future, say

a period of 12-18 months and see if there are any major celestial

combination. But I must admit that it becomes difficult to do it

regularly - midst our busy schedules.

Dear vinay jha ji,

I express my apologies to you. But many of them have lot of bitter

experiences with astrologers, the reason being, they first ask what is

your problem? then they will justify why that problem has occurred.

But the astrologers can as well look into his chart, he knows what the

planetic position is, he can atleast come close to the problem. But it

doesn't happen in most of the cases. So people have lost faith in

astrology. I just wanted to bring this point, that just by looking

into the chart, atleast you can predict something which can be close

to the actual problem.

But i apologise for my comments. sorry about that.

The issue must not be diverted : the issue is not a failure of any particular

prediction made by me or anyone else, the issue is whether we should try to

analyze post-event scenes or not. Can you point out any specific " failure " on my

part ? I am not God and i may err, but where is that particular " failure " which

you want to discuss, instead of the main issue which is the title of this thread

Mr. Vinay,

I was not laughing at your methods. I was not laughing at your research. I

was not laughing at you. One should first understand the " known " and then

try to understand the unknown. There is no doubt at all.

All astrologers fail in their predictions. The issue is one should accept

the failures. That is all.

Sunil Da,

When I posted my original analysis of this crash, I searched for all possible

spots of crash from Rio to Paris, because there was no clear news about the

actual crash site. My analysis showed 30W 10N as the most dangerous spot, while

current news show most of the debris spread over a huge area from the equator to

about 4N (mostly around 1:20'N), but recent news say the plane was returning to

land due to greater turbulence ahead. Hence, my original analysis of greatest

turbulence at 10N (+/- few degrees crudeness because my software uses world map

on which 2-3 degree errors are possible while making manual obervations). I

examined crash site charts too, but it is not possible to present 18 charts

which are indespensable for analyzing this tragedy here , they need a special

webpage. If astrologers want to learn my technique in detail, I will create such

a webpage specially dedicated to this incident. I have already created such a

webpage (yesterday), but

only copied and pasted the material from this forum.

Dear Vinay,

I think in addition to your analysis one has to take into account the path of

the plane as a dangerous spot developed at that particular place (ie. at that

particular latitude and longitude) and that time when the plane passed through

it. So an analysis of the kundali of that place at that particular time will be

equally relevant, if not more.

Sincerely,

The method I used here is so difficult that that only a few supermen

will be able to predict anything using it on their own, but a team work

may yield good results. Most of the scientists work with team spirit,

while astrologers laugh at each other, even when 228 innocent persons get

killed.

A member asked what was the chance of any survival in this crash, which prompted

me to carry out the analysis. I said : " There is hardly any chance of a single

survival " .

<<< " Once the event is known, astrologers will be able to show it using their

own methods, be it Vedic, KP, Western, Uranian or any other homegrown

techniques. " >>>

Why not show one's own technique in explaining the event? Failure to predict is

a result of failure to learn from and respect

each other, failure to compare various methods impartially, and failure

to admit one's mistakes and rectify them. To err is human, but to stick

to methods which fail to explain events is not good. Post-event analyses are

indespensable for learning , comparing and rectifying our methods, as

Rohiniranjan ji rightly feels.

Dear Raman Sir,

I agree with you that postmortems are excellent tools for learning astrology.

But, we tend to get lost in post-mortems and many times use wrong logic to

arrive at a right conclusion because the event is known. That is the reason why

an astrologer is able to justify any event using any system that is being

practiced today. My reaction was more generic and not specific to the origin of

this thread. In my opinion, we should try to come up with more and more

predictions and when we fail sit and do a postmortem to see what went wrong. I

feel this would be a better approach to learn.

Again, this is a general statement and I am not commenting on any individual. I

am only sharing my thoughts on the way we as a community work.

Regards,

Krishna

If I can add my 2 cents.

I agree with your first line... That it is important for us to predict

the events in advance...

However, for students of Astrology, Post Morten analysis is an excellent

learning.

One practice that we have is to time and again peep into the future, say

a period of 12-18 months and see if there are any major celestial

combination. But I must admit that it becomes difficult to do it

regularly - midst our busy schedules.

Best wishes,

Case Studies are indespensable for understanding complicated events which are

hard to predict and we should desist from diverting the issue. If you want to

discuss the success or failures of astrologers, you should start a new topic for

it, but this tragedy taking 228 lives should not be buried under irrelavant

talks. If we have nothing to contribute to this thread, we can at least mourn

for the killed passengers. Do not misunderstand me. Many good topics in fora get

diverted to irrelevant discussions. It is better to stop this thread than to

divert the talk.

Krishna Ji,

I have also seen examples of " wrong logic to arrive at a right conclusion " in

many past case studies by many astrologers who are " able to justify any event

using any system that is being practiced today " .

But we must not throw the baby with bathtub. Any experienced astrologer knows

that no one can guarantee foolproof predictions of crashes due to two problems :

confusion about methods, and too much of data to process. Scientists work in

teams, astrologers are alone and do not even possess reliable data to work on.

Krishna ji should have frankly discussed the " wrong logic to arrive at a right

conclusion " in my analysis, which I welcome, if such reactions are sincere and

pertinent to the point.

There are too many case studies in many fora and magazines. Has Krishna ji ever

objected to them ever ?

I am a software developer, having little time for wring case studies. I was

compelled by many senior members to present case studies. And after wasting my

time on case studies, I am told that case studies should not be posted. No

software developer was ever treated in this way. It is unfair, to put it mildly.

I have to add new modules in my astrological softwares. Case studies should be

done by others, not by software developers. Software developers should not be

dragged into useless controversies, endless discussions about history,

mathematics, case studies, etc.

I will fulfill the damand of Krishna Ji too, by posting predictions. When I

posted this thread, nothing was known about casualties. I

predicted : " There is hardly any chance of a single survival " . Now, has

not this prediction come true ? But it was ignored. My future predictions will

also be ignored.

Re: Re: Aircraft Crash : AF447 tragedy on June 1, 2009

Regards,

Krishna

Re: Aircraft Crash : AF447 tragedy on June 1, 2009

If I can add my 2 cents.

I agree with your first line... That it is important for us to predict

the events in advance...

However, for students of Astrology, Post Morten analysis is an excellent

learning.

One practice that we have is to time and again peep into the future, say

a period of 12-18 months and see if there are any major celestial

combination. But I must admit that it becomes difficult to do it

regularly - midst our busy schedules.

Best wishes,

Dear Vinay ji,

You seem to have ignored the spirit of my statement. Please read it again.

I am not throwing the baby with the bath tub. On the contrary, I am saying that

be more careful with the baby.

Now, coming to your specific case of prediction (though until now I was not

talking about your analysis or prediction):

Within a few hours of the disaster it was strongly believed that the plane might

have been hit by lightening and this would have happened over sea and in such a

case it was very apparent that the chances of any survivors was very very bleak.

Hence, any prediction about that will not be seen as an important prediction as

common sense was enough to come to that conclusion, though you might have got it

right using astrology. That is the reason people have not commented on your

prediction. But, you as an astrologer who have made a prediction feel that

people have turned a blind eye to your prediction. Please try to understand.

Regards,

Krishna

Krishna Ji,

Even today, it is only a guess that lightning was a cause. Debris was found much

after my analysis was posted.

When some members were told that my rain predictions were verified by Climate

branch of NASA headquarters, and CAOS, IISc (Bangalore) accepted my scientific

paper on rain forecaatng, I was declared a " fraud " in many forums by a small

team without any proof against me ! NASA and IISc are well known institutions

and anyone could check whether I was a liar or not. But mutual jealousy often

blinds some " astrologers " . They were only a handful, but determined to " finish "

me (their leader even used the word " kill " ).

There must be something special either in me or in these special types of

astrologers, who have least interest in reading my case studies and predictions,

and are always trying to prove me wrong, without reading me.

You are not a part of this team. But I fail to understand why you are determined

to post irrellevant messages in this thread if you do not want to read or

discuss the case study posted by me. If you want only predictions and no case

studies, first prove your own mettle before testing mine (please take it as a

friendly proposition). If you succeeed in making one good prediction, I will do

ten. Let us compete. OK ? Let us start with impending Indian monsoos. Predict

the areas and timings of hazards related to monsoons. It is a useful excercize

which will benefit not only astrologers but everyone. I have started posting my

forecasts. Let us bury this thread and forget the 228 dead, because you are

determined not to allow any discussion on a post-event analysis, and let us show

our mettle in prediction as you want.

I was told that if I do not send case studies, I should not remain a

member of astrological fora. And you are saying the opposite. Hence, I am forced

to be more outspoken now, because I can never please everyone in these fora

where members make contrary demands.

Again 1 point missed out here.. is..

The doctor predicts/diagonises what is the problem with the patient when **the

patient visits the doctor and ask him what is my problem**.

Just because my neighbour passed away, I cannot blame the doctor communitity

because he has not seen a doctor about his problem.

And then when a doctor does postmortem.. I won't tell him he is bad doctor,

because he is doing postmortem.

I hope my anolagy is a result of good comprehension of your message.

Dear Raman ji,

Coming from an illustrious family, and having been surrounded by magnificient

astrologers you would perhaps be able to answer this question better than most,

having experienced such great prognosticators such as Prof. BV Raman, Smt.

Gayatri Devi and others perhaps directly as you grew up and perhaps learned from

them.

Even if someone could predict this disaster right down to the day, flight number

and so on, what would have been the consequences of such a prediction even if it

were given say a month or two months before the ghastly accident?

Would the airline have not launched the flight on that day or time?

Would the passengers have not booked the flight on that plane?

How would such a prediction changed the course of the tragedy?

Given the current reality, attitude and acceptance of people, governments,

flight industry of astrology?

The same can be said of the mass shootings in schools such as in Montreal,

Columbine, Mumbai blast and many of the terrorist attacks.

Even when remarkable predictions have been given in the past about individuals,

no astrologer has been able to get down to specifics, name, date and time. In

those cases, in most cases, people marvel after the prediction comes true and

are in awe of astrology and astrologer, but I am not sure if the prediction

really changed the course of anything or avoided what was to happen.

Perplexing but pragmatic reality, I hope you would agree and that my questions

are serious and not aimed at minimalizing some of the uncanny prognosticators

and prognostications.

Others may comment to if they know the answers.

Regards,

Since you did not quote, we are not sure who you really wished to respond to,

but since in the message tree, your response appears next in hierarchy to mine,

I am presuming you were responding to me :-)

Using the modern medical model (or what I understand it as!). There was a time

when the doctors worked without pressure and accountability and many worked

well, some got greedy and we all suffered!

In a modern country (USA), people started suing doctors for missing this and

that, and some allegations were serious, others were mostly mischief. The

lawyers had moved in!

So doctors started to cover their *assets* and began ordering all kinds of

tests, the latest I have heard of is a pan-scan or something like that. Result:

Cost of delivering medicine went up crazily! Too many unnecessary tests! In

countries where health care is not provided by government, the poor suffered! In

countries where it was covered by society, the trend was more controlled but

still the costs mounted!

Either way, we all suffered!

Those who are in the alternative medicine field were benefitted because now

people gravitated to cheaper modalities, many of which are unregulated and some

questionable!

Who goes there and what is the outcome is variably charted and so the gray cloud

accumulates thicker. Hard to separate the good from the bad and the ugly!

Again, I think, we all suffered!!

Dear Vinay ji,

You have still not understood what I am trying to say! You seem to be going on a

tangent.

While I am talking about the PROCESS of learning in astrology you are talking

about INDIVIDUALS capability. Both are different issues. I am not interested in

what you are talking. I clearly know that I am very junior in this field as

compared to most of you here. Hence, I don't have any intention of challenging

anyone's capability. I am not interested to assess how good YOU are or any other

individual is in astrology. I mentioned that the better way to learn (for all

those who are still learning like me) is to first try and make a prediction and

do a post mortem when the prediction fails. If what I am saying is not

applicable to you please ignore. Please don't go on a tangent again picking up

some other irrelevant issue.

Hope I am clear this time.

Regards,

Krishna

If you want only predictions and no case

studies, first prove your own mettle before testing mine (please take it as a

friendly proposition) . If you succeeed in making one good prediction, I will

do ten.

Dear Vinay ji,

You seem to have ignored the spirit of my statement. Please read it again.

I am not throwing the baby with the bath tub..

Krishna

Re: Re: Aircraft Crash : AF447 tragedy on June 1, 2009

Krishna

If I can add my 2 cents.

I agree with your first line... That it is important for us to predict

the events in advance...

However, for students of Astrology, Post Morten analysis is an excellent

learning.

One practice that we have is to time and again peep into the future, say

a period of 12-18 months and see if there are any major celestial

combination. But I must admit that it becomes difficult to do it

regularly - midst our busy schedules.

I fail to understand what you mean by saying " I hope my anolagy is a result of

good comprehension of your message " . You have not shown any evidence of having

even read my original message : analysis of AF447 crash. I fear you are drifting

away from the main topic. If you are interested in discussing the usefulness or

lack of usefulness of postmortems, you should start a new topic titled " efficacy

of postmortems " . Please do not bury the main topic under your new issue

" efficacy of postmortems " , it is tantamount to diversion of the issue. It took

me hours to write this analysis. Let those interested in understanding this

tragedy discuss it. If you find my analysis wrong, give your own analysis, if

you have any. Why divert a topic ? Most of my time in fora is wasted due to

similar problems, which often makes me think whether I should remain in these

fora or not. Please try to understand me. I am not accusing you, I seek

cooperation in streamlining these

fora as far as relevance of postings to topics are concerned.

Krishna ji,

I am not going on a tangent. What you miss is that this topic is about AF447

tragedy, and if my analysis is wrong, put forth your own analysis. But please do

not kill the topic, which you are unintentionally doing. Without post-event

analysis, no branch of knowledge can progress.

I also publish my forecasts on internet. You will find my 3 year old forecasts

at my weatherindia website, which you can check with reference to official data.

On another website, you will find my rain forecasts verified by Climate branch

of NASA headquarters at GSFC

y_CAOS%2C_IISc).

Why you target me for NOT publishing any predictions ? You will understand my

dismay if you count the number of responses to this analysis of AF447 : you will

find that only one resonse was about my article, and all others discussed

another issue : " efficacy of post-mortems " , which ought to have been discussed

under a new thread, and even that solo relevant response was from a novice who

did not know the basics of chart reading. This is how hours of painstaking works

are wasted by careless responses by some members, who do not know that one

should respond according to the topic, and only whem there is something worth

mentioning. Many astrologers have already left open fora, and I am also thinking

what I should do, because those who do not want to discuss the issue raised in a

topic charge me to be on the tangent.

I am not accusing anyone, I am merely reporting the Crash of My Article about

AF447 in the vast ocean of an open forum.

You have still not understood what I am trying to say! You seem to be going on a

tangent.

While I am talking about the PROCESS of learning in astrology you are talking

about INDIVIDUALS capability..

Re: Re: Aircraft Crash : AF447 tragedy on June 1, 2009

If you want only predictions and no case

studies, first prove your own mettle before testing mine (please take it as a

friendly proposition) . If you succeeed in making one good prediction, I will

do ten.

Dear Vinay ji,

You seem to have ignored the spirit of my statement. Please read it again.

I am not throwing the baby with the bath tub..

Krishna

Re: Re: Aircraft Crash : AF447 tragedy on June 1, 2009

Krishna

If I can add my 2 cents.

I agree with your first line... That it is important for us to predict

the events in advance...

However, for students of Astrology, Post Morten analysis is an excellent

learning.

One practice that we have is to time and again peep into the future, say

a period of 12-18 months and see if there are any major celestial

combination. But I must admit that it becomes difficult to do it

regularly - midst our busy schedules.

Dear Vinay ji,

You are correct when you say that I should have changed the topic when I wanted

to discuss the PROCESS and not the POSTMORTEM. I agree, that was a mistake. But,

going by the same token, I wonder why you did not change the topic when you

threw a challenge at me about competing with me to make predictions. That was

nothing to do with the original thread either. That was the tangent I was

talking about, though you deny going off on a tangent. I guess it is easy to

preach.

Thanks for giving the address of your website where you have posted your

predictions. If you have got them right, it is good for you. I congratulate you

on your success.

Regards,

Krishna

I am not throwing the baby with the bath tub..

Now you see the point that a topic should be discussed according to its issue, I

have no complaint. I retract my words because " challenge " is not a good word.

I believe perhaps no one will discuss this thread, in spite of 228 deaths. It is

better to close this whole thread.

I congratulate you

on your success.

arrive at a right conclusion because the event is known.

Regards,

But I must admit that it becomes difficult to do it

regularly - midst our busy schedules..

Best wishes,
