You want the truth to be a certain way;

You seek truth which corresponds to your beliefs.

The truth you seek is the truth you already are.

Knowing yourself, you know everything/everybody.

But you seek something/somebody 'out there' instead.

Seek in the right place.

Tim,

Consciousness is all there is. What you are is what consciousness allows to be

conscious of. So all your wunderful truth is very limited and - quickly

forgotten.

Self-knowledge is like all other knowledge, you can only 'know' what you

remember. You can have learned a million facts about yourself but at this very

moment your self-knowlede is just what your brain allows to remember - very,

very little.

Seeking 'out there' or seeking 'within' makes no difference because the seeker

is the sought. If you seek sex, fame or riches, the seeker is the sought. If you

stop seeking the seeker also is gone.

So why address this message to " Tim " ? What Tim is that?

I don't care about your name or nick. But if you prefer from now on, instead of

Tim, I will call you Donald Duck.

If you remember we already had that again: 'I am you and you are me, on your

I don't care either way. Thought responds to such data, as a computer

speech-recognition program displays a head turning when a word is spoken into

the microphone.

P.S. why not question Bob instead? You'll get the string of " F*ck you's " you're

looking for, to start the game off right ;-). I'm not interested.

Tim,

The word communication has its root in the Latin 'communicare' which means 'to

care together'.

Are we caring together like humans or are we just like computers responding in a

very limited way ?

Both, it seems.

To care about others (not-care about oneself) is mechanical. To reject others

(care about oneself) is mechanical.

What isn't mechanical, need not and cannot be commented on. No self or others

are involved.

As Nisargadatta said, " a different dimension altogether " .

And yet, not different at all.

One divests one's investment in the " self image " .

One recollects one's divestment of " Being " .

Simultaneously. Same 'movement'. Progress that is regress.

This mechanical topic is quite interesting, Tim.

Is there an opposite to acting mechanical which is not mechanical ? What about

intelligence ? Is intelligence mechanical or is it independent and free ?

But to call a human action as mechanical also implies that there must exist

something which is not mechanical, else that word 'mechanical' would not exist.

What about Love (with a capital 'L') ?

Yes, Michelle,

this seems the most plausible.

The whole Universe just a huge machine following eternal laws which cannot and

never will change.

All this talk about liberation and freedom just an escape. But somehow odd that

a mechanical creature wants to get free and liberated, isn't that strange ?

Saying there is a mechanical creature is a pretense of knowledge.

There is nothing to know.

You can't step out of the present to know anything about it as an object.

The past is not, and can't be known.

The future is not, and can't be known.

The knower is a fictional stringing together of memory images, imagined as forms

being retained, as if forms could be retained, as if something of the past

remained.

The self or knower is just the imagined retention of what isn't held.

No knower, nothing known, nothing to be known, no lack of knowledge.

That's all.

No mechanical creature, no authoritative stance to be taken.
