I tend to think those kinds of generalizations rarely hold true as there is too much diversity in a group, and the speaker usually doesn't really know everyone well enough to be saying what is true for them. So, what's most clear for me is when a person speaks directly from and of his or her own experience. So, I would tend to hear what you've said this way: " my view of what everyone must be doing, is that everyone must be believing they exist independently, and everyone must be contending, and everyone must be pretending not to care when they care. That is how I experience the way people communicate here, and that's my interpretation of what others are doing, which interpretation reflects my concerns and perceptions. " Because you don't know what everyone else is feeling and doing. And if you did, you couldn't put it all into words. So, you pick and choose the words to use, that reflect what is most important to you, based on the image you've formed after consulting your thoughts and feelings. That's how it seems to me. That's the picture I formed, after consulting my thoughts and feelings, in response to the words you wrote. And perhaps none of what I wrote is appropriate to you, and none of it reflects what is true for you. What if the poetry behind it all, is what really matters? And the poetry is something deeper within you? Something deeper within you that is just barely audible, right now? And what if, by focusing too much on what is being said by others, you're tuning that poetry deep inside you, out? Just asking. Has nothing to do with me. In the " Realm of the Hungry Ghosts " all is not well. The more the ghosts rave about how well they are doing, the hungrier they sound. The verbal output of ghosts, trying to sound upbeat and positive, has the hollow and ghastly ring of an endless attempt to try to find a center from which to be -- which center can only ever be dimly perceived and held with denied shakiness and hidden tremoring - the experienced center never being more than the accumulated desire to claim existence where none is to be had. That center having no more substantiality, than the desire of a ghost to maintain existence, which desire is just the conglomeration of fear associated with memories that can't ever be held together firmly enough.
