Dear Members, Here is a write-up by my spiritual friend Sri Harsha Ramamurthy on Sri Rajam mami AtmAbhinnashivAkAram chidAnandaghanam guham | prakAsham vimalam shAntam brahmaNyam

samupAsmahe || <!--[endif]--> shrImAtre namaH shrIprAsAda parameshwarAya namaH ‘Lopamudra’ Smt. Rajalakshmi Suryanarayanan, known to thousands of Srividya Upasakas as ‘Rajam Mami’, returned to her Divine Abode in Chintamani Dwipa yesterday [Thursday] at 10.45 pm. Smt. Rajam Mami was initiated at a very young age into Srividya Upasana by Brahmasri Chidanandanatha of Guhananda Mandali. She received pUrNAbhiSheka and pUrNottara dIkSha-s by Brahmasri ‘Sir’ Chidanandanatha [Nediminti Subrahmanya Iyer] with the dIkShA nAma of ‘prakAshAmbA’. An encyclopedia of Srividya, Mantra Shastra and Advaita Vedanta, Mami was a great scholar, a teacher par excellence and a strict Guru. She

initiated innumerable disciples into various modes of upAsanA based on their capabilities, and was respected as one of the foremost Srividya Upasakas in the world. She was held in high regard by Acharyas of Sringeri, Kanchi, Puri and Dwaraka Shankara Mutts. She received the title ‘lopAmudrA’ from H H Sri Sri Abhinava Vidya Tirtha Mahaswamigal of Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sharada Peetham and a golden Srichakra. She also frequently discussed various subtleties of upAsanA with H H Mahasannidhanam. Paramacharya of Kanchi had high regards for Mami. Once, when a child [smt Veda Satyam, now a mother] who listened to the discoursing Mahaperiyaval, kept asking her mother, ‘Amma! How does Kamakshi look?’, H H replied: ‘Dear Child, look at

rAjam, that is exactly how Kamakshi looks’. Mami, other than the Srividya Sthanigam of Kanchi [sri Kamakoti Shastrigal’s family], was the only person authorized to perform Navavarana to the Mula Salagrama Srichakra in Kamakoti Pitha in front of Sri Kamakshi, established by Bhagavan Durvasa. Rajam Mami was held as the very form of Parashakti by innumerable disciples, householders and Sanyasis alike. Divine experiences were natural phenomena in the presence of Mami. Years ago, Mami once sat in the shrine of Sri Kamakshi, immersed in the recitation of Sri Lalita Sahasranama. After a while, she noticed a lady, dressed in red and wearing dazzling jewelry, seated next to her, watching her intently. The lady said, ‘You recited the

name mahAsaktiH incorrectly as mahAshaktiH’. Mami at once looked around to find a piece of paper to note the correction but the lady firmly gripped her hand and said, ‘No need! I will always be with you, in you’. Saying so, the lady disappeared in a whiff and a thousand-watt power struck mAmi between the eyes. Mami, from that day, became a living embodiment of Sri Kamakshi. A Khadga with inscribed bIjAkSharas, was gifted to Mami by the priests of Kamakya temple. This sword, which had been used for pashu and nara bali-s for years, was given as a mark of respect to Mami who advised the priests to refrain from Vamachara/Himsachara. Whenever Mami stood holding this sword, people who saw her had visions of Ashtadashabhuji Mahadurga.

There are several hundreds who have seen the divine vision. Mami knew every single detail about her disciples. She knew who recited what mantra how many times, whether one did Nitya Karma anushthana, what one was thinking and if any of her disciples were facing trouble. The moment one understood he was in trouble, even before remembering her, she would send prasadam and say, ‘Do not worry, everything will be ok’. Her Siddhis appeared mysterious to some, awe-inspiring to some and as marks of the inner realization to many. No one who came in touch with her failed to notice her divinity. Smt Rajam Mami was deeply devoted to her Guru. Guru was her God, life and Upasana. Till her last breath, she was remembering her Guru and was thinking of the Guru Mandala Puja to be celebrated in Tiruttani on Tai Amavasya. Mami had announced her shedding of the mortal frame last Navaratri and had slowly withdrawn herself into a trance for the last few months. As the current parivrtti comes close to an end, Lopamudra, the Guru Mandala Adhishthatri for this parivritti, has chosen to end her avatAra and return to her original abode in Manidwipa. Smt. Parakashamba is the Jnana Surya whose prakAsha will always enlighten the dark corners of hearts filled with the tamas of dvaita. Kamakoti Mandali, the name for which was christened by none other than Mami, salutes to her lotus feet and pray to grant us the strength to bear the immense pain

of getting orphaned. hakArAdimanorvAchyAm vande kAmeshwarIm shivAm ||Warm Regards,Harsha Ramamurthy Purity, Powers, Parabrahmam... IIश्रीराम बलिजेपल्ली II Click to join Rajarajeshwari_Kalpataru
