At 11.30 a.m., turmeric for the far-month October contract was trading 1.1 per cent higher at Rs 3,765 a quintal on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange. The benchmark December contract gained one per cent at Rs 3,835 a quintal after rising t o Rs 3,855 a quintal at the outset of the session on short-covering by speculators.
