Duration of Jupiter in one sign

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Namaskar all,

I am confused about the duration of Jupiter's stay in one sign. As per the informations available, jupiter stays approx one year in one sign. But how come it goes to Aquarius from May 2009 after entering Capricorn from Dec 2008? Is it some software problem or some thing else?

With due regards

Namaste Deepaji,

If it turns retro as far as I know it should enter Sagitarrius and not Aquarius. It enters Aquarius and then again comes back to Capricorn from I think August onwards.

Namaste Deepaji,

I use JHora which I recently downloaded from the website. Earlier I was using 7.02 version but recently as recommended by Shashikaranji, I downloaded the version 7.2 which has no doubt additional features. But in both when I see the transit of Jupiter I am confused.

dear coolgimmy,

there appears to be a tendency to call something as wrong

if it does not appear the way you think. sorry.

mathematical astronomy is as big as astrology or any other

subject. jhora and other astro softwares use "swiss ephemeris"

as a back end. swiss ephemeris has been developed based

on the ephemeris provided by "NASA ".

jhora was developed by Shri. Narasimha, who is a gold medalist

from Madras IIT and an MS from US. He is a specialist in

hardware as well as software tools.

vedic day is from sunrise to sunrise. hence after midnight the

vara remains the same as that of the previous day.

Namaste Shashikaranji,

Since Deepaji asked me the source of information I gave it to her. I have no intentions of pinpointing or calling something wrong which doesnt work my way. Well here its not my own way but as defined by some principles of astrology. I have just started learning this subject and some terminologies are not clear with me. I know about Shri.Narsimha and his educational background. Software do have bugs which nor you nor Shri.Narsimha can rule out this.

Regards.

Dear coolgimmy,

rest assured, JHora has no bugs. None. While as a teacher by profession, I must congratulate you on your ability to reject things that do not appeal to your logic. however, its naive and disrespectful to pass judgement upon an authority, while you are only just a beginner.

thanks for telling me your source of info. I use JHora too and my acknowledgements to sri sasisekaranji who shared the link to a free download with me. How exactly did you attempt looking at transits?

Lets understand and sort it out

Best Wishes

Deepa

dear coolgimmy,

i do accept all software can have bug. but the ' bugs' you have

pointed out are not bugs and that is why i said what apppears

to you as wrong need not be so. there is no question of difference

in logic in these mathematics. when one is in the begining of

anything , he or she must take extra care in passing a comment

as this is being seen and read by many. i have no intention to

criticize you but only alerted you. no offence meant.

i assume you have got an idea how the 'day' or vaara is

given in jhora.

may mother bless all

Namaste Shashikaranji,

Since I don't know whether it was a bug or is there theory behind it, I put both the ways. I appreciate the efforts put by Shri Narsimha in developing such a software and making it available free on the net. Otherwise for doing calculations manually it needs a lot of time and one needs to know theory or rules about many things which is at least not in my scope. Without internet I would not have gone for this in my free time. Thanks for informing about the difference between normal and a vedic day.

Question: Does Jupiter deviate from its actual movement sequence? I have seen R with all the planets which are retrograde but never seen F in any?

dear coolgimmy,

retro motions are illusory. planets do not go backwards.

that is the reason you dont find any 'F'.

assume three persons. let A stand on the road while B and C

travel in two buses at a constant speed.

assume now bus B move faster. for the person B , it would appear

as though bus C going backwards. the real truth is known to A, standing

on the road.

now assume another instance when the bus B slows down a little bit.

it would appear for the person C that he is travelling faster. but the

truth is bus C has not changed its speed. B has slowed down.

these apparent motions are taken into account in astrology.

may mother bless all

regards

sasisekaran.
