ADMISSION NOTIFICATION 2008-2009

 

Applications are invited from eligible candidates seeking admission into 3 years Sastri (B.A.); 2 years Acharya (M.A.); & 3 years Vidyavaridhi (Ph.D.) Courses offered by Sri Venkateswara Vedic University for the year 2008-2009. Prescribed application form and prospectus can be obtained from the Registrar, Sri Venkateswara Vedic University, II Floor, Purandaradass Complex, Prakasam Road, Tirupati-517501, A.P. Admissions are based on Entrance Examination conducted by the University. The last date for receipt of filled in applications in this office is 05-07-2008 along with pass certificate copies from institutions/ respective teachers.

1) Rigveda (Saakala)

2) Krishna Yajurveda (Taittireeya)

3) Sukla Yajurveda (i) Kanva, (ii) Madhyandina

4) Samaveda (i) Kauthuma, (ii) Jaimineeya (iii) Ranayaneeya

 

COURSE ELIGIBILITY:

Sastri (Kramanta): Pass in Samhita & Brahmana Portion of respective Veda

Acharya (Ghananta): Pass in Kramantham in respective Veda

Sastri: Pass in Prakruti, Vikruti part

 

5) Vaikhanasagama

6) Pancharatragama

7) Saivagama

8) Divyaprabandha

 

COURSE ELIGIBILITY:

Sastri (Prathisthanta): Pass in "Kalyanotsvanta" portion in respective Aga,a

Acharya: Pass in Pratishtaamta, portion in respective Agama

Sastri: Pass in Divyaprabandha Moolam

 

9) Aswalayana (Rigveda) Pourohitya;

10) Apasthamba (Krishnayajurveda) Pourohitya;

11) Vaikhanasa Pourohitya;

12) Paraskara (Suklayajurveda) Pourohitya

 

COURSE ELIGIBILITY:

Sastri (Shodasakarmantam): Pass in "Upanayanaanta" part in respective Soothra.

Acharya: Pass in Shodasa/ Ashtadasa Karmaaantha portion in respective Sootra

 

13) Rigveda Bhashya;

14) Krishnayajurveda Bhashya;

15) Suklayajurveda Bhashya (Kanva/ Mandyandina);

16) Samaveda Bhashya;

17) Atharvaveda Bhashya

 

COURSE ELIGIBILITY:

Sastri: Pass in Moolam of respective Veda and Knowledge of Sanskrit

Acharya: Pass in Sastri or equivalent course in concerned Vedabhashya.

 

18) Vidyavaridhi

 

COURSE ELIGIBILITY:

Pass with 55% in any of the above subjects offered by the University from a recognized University/ Institution.

 

 

 

AGE LIMIT AS ON 30-06-2008

Sastri: Completion of 17 years and below 22 years

Acharya: Completion of 20 years and below 25 years

Vidyavaridhi (Ph.D.): Completion of 22 years

 

Facilities/ Incentives:

In addition to free boarding, accommodation and clothing, Rs.1 Lakh will be deposited inthe name of each student ( excluding those who are already covered under the scheme). The amount will be paid with interest to the student after successful completionof Post graduation/ Award of Ph.D. Degree. For further details please refere the prospectus.
