Death and Shakti Puja

Quick question t anyone that can answer.

 

I know one is not meant to perform puja to Maa when there has been a death in the family within the 16 days...but i was planning to begin jaap for someone who is goin thru difficulties...howevers, she has just lost someone in her family...can i still perform the jaap on her behalf or do i have to wait for the 16 days to be over

why 16 days. once you have not entered or viewed the deceased in that mannerism there should be no problem however your local pundit would be best to give more knowledge but besides what does KALI mean.
