indulekhadasi 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2007 Is there any mention or evidence of Lord Ayappa in the Bhagavatam or any other holy scripture? Please let me know! I do know that it is written about Lord Shiva becoming attracted to Mohini murti but I don't recall reading that they had a son. tackleberry 1 Report post Posted December 21, 2007 Except for people in Kerala, India, nobody accepts Ayapa as an authentic god, because he's not mentioned in any Vedic scripture. In India, everybody is worshipped, from movie stars to politicians to local gurus, so it's not surprising that this ayapa has been elevated to the status of a god. Hope this helps.
