I do remember something in Prabhupada books that a son should be very grateful to his father for giving him the opportunity at human life or something to that extent but I don't know where exactly it is at. radhagovind 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2007 Any quotes from scripture? you don't need any references, just respect them as they symbolize the absolute truth. since he can;t be in his original form with everyone (not everyone deserves it), he gave us mother and father who look after us and preserve us like vishnu. in srimad bhagavatam and other puranas, the lord talks about respecting mother and father and that he even bows to them on many occassions.
