Guest guest
Dear Ramesh, My attempt is only to understand better and I am not writing any views as I am not a Guru.I noticed the following points and would like further commentts on them: 1.Sun is Bhadhakesh joined Mercury in the second house itself. 2.Jupiter is in Maran Sthan. 3.Mars is retrogade and not very good for the second house and also Jupiter is placed in Bhadak sthan from Mars. 4.Shani joined Jupiter and has Venus [lagna lord] and Ketu in his Rashis. 5.Maandi is along with Mars. These may add to the problem. Guest guest
Dear Ramesh and List, Even with the different rising, here are some strong points for these problems with speech. As mentioned the Sun is gandanta in both navamsa and rasi charts and conjoined Mercury in rasi. Also Sun is in Mercury's star. Jupiter is in Mrityu Bhaga. Parivartana between RMars and Mercury and RMars is in this Jupiter's star. Mercury is in Saturn's star and this Saturn is also conjoined this Jupiter. RMars exchanges a 7H aspect from both this MB Jupiter and Saturn, and Mercury is in RMars ruled Scorpio, with this parvitana. I also think this RMars being in Jupiter's star with sub even Jupiter (while Jupiter is Mrityu Bhaga) in Gemini, which is natural sign for communication/speech shows this as well. And as you said Jupiter is naisargika karka for 2H. In navamsa gandanta Sun is conjoined Ketu (which is often also involved with speech problems) in Jupiter's sign and again this Jupiter in MB in rasi. Gandanta Sun is again in Mercury star, as is Mercury as well, and Mercury conjoined Saturn receiving 8H aspect from RMars. I'd still like to have the data to see what is the correct Lagna if you don't mind sending. There are more things contributing as well with the chart I have and with this one I would also wonder about hearing problems contributing to his speech disorder. Guest guest
Dear Ramesh, I'm now getting the correct Libra Lagna. With this corrected lagna this is a good example of badhaka as well as gandanta. With Sun as Badhkesh and also being gandanta in both rasi and navamsa charts and Mercury conjoined this Sun, and Mercury as natural signifcator for speech. Also Rahu in Sun sign and just slightly more than a degree from exact degree with Mercury in Kendra to 2H with Mercury and Sun. Ketu of course also in Kendra to the same degree, very tight. Mercury is in Saturn's star in 3H conjoined this MB Jupiter in Jupiter's house with RMars in Jupiter's star and this parivartana with Mercury happening with RMars from Gemini and giving full aspect on the 3H. Navamsa again gandanta Sun conjoined Ketu aspecting 3H with Jupiter, Rahu and Moon, in Mercury ruled sign Virgo, and Gemini in 12H in Navamsa. (In KP chart both gandanta Sun and Mrityu Bhaga Jupiter are in 3H.) Thanks for sharing this chart and information. It's a very interesting chart for this. Best wishes, Patrice __________ Satyam Bruyat Priyam Bruyat Dear Parthasarathy and Kanupriya, Thank you for your response. I had overlooked importance of Badhkesh! Guest guest
Dear Manu, Each Rashi has a Bhadhak sthan. The lord of that sign is called bhadhakesh. The Bhadhak sign represents the obstacles one may face.It can indicate the reasons why the obstacles are coming too.It would show what the native may have done to cause these problems for them selves in another life. The diety of the Bhadhakesh should be worshipped to remove these obstacles. The Bhadak sthan for Fixed rashis is the 9th house from them. For Dual Rashis its the 7th house from them. For Moveable rashis its the 11th house from them. So with this one can see that the Lagna rashi is not something we get just like that,it is our lagna rashi due to the karmas attached to it and what we may have done in another life. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi Ramesh - Wondering what you mean by the Sun being in gandantha both in rasi and navamsa. How can u determine if a planet is in gandantha in navamsa? I thought gandantha happens whenever a planet is placed in the revati-end/asvini-begining, etc - i.e. nakshatra gandantha. How many other types of gandathas are possible? I saw elsewhere something about tithi gandantha. Thanks much. Regards, - Jai
Guest guest
Dear Jai, PL software which I use and others, gives degrees in navamsa. Yes, you are right about what gandanta means. Light on Life describes them as another class of 'Sandhi', describing them "...as particularly inopportune because it is a double sandhi, a juncture of two rashis as well as two nakshatras. Grahas located at these points are very weak, and indicate major problems in the native's life unless the grahas involved are strengthened by appropriate remedies." Light on Life describes them as: "Ganda means 'cheek' and/or 'the whole side of the face including the temple', which makes the Gandanta segments the 'junctures' of the celestial faces that look down upon us." I haven't seen anything regarding 'sandhi' of nakshatras and would love for some information regarding this. Are they not to be considered? I'm thinking not as I mentioned earlier there would be around 54 possibilities for this and perhaps Gandanta is all that is considered with nakshatras. All best regards, Patrice ____________ Hi Ramesh - Wondering what you mean by the Sun being in gandantha both in rasi and navamsa. How can u determine if a planet is in gandantha in navamsa? This is the 3rd house with Jupiter and Saturn, aspected by Rahu. Jupiter is its own MTK house. Jupiter is known to 'bhrashta' the house in which it is placed. Would it afflict its own house too? Saturn being ahead in longitude wins the graha yudha. Add to that is the aspect of Rahu! In conclusion I did not see major afflictions that could indicate speech disorder in first 3 points. The 4th point however would lead us to the identification of affliction. I shall appreciate if receiving comments from learned members and a scrutiny by Gurus. There are quite a few points I've found but am wondering about the correct chart. Can you please verify? Timezone 4, 50E34, 26N13. In chart that I have Jupiter is in Mrityu Bhaga, Sun is in gandanta in both Navamsa and Rasi charts, conjoined Mercury in Rasi, and ruling 2H in Navamsa. RMars and Ketu are in nakshatra sandhi in both charts in trines to 2H. Mercury is also in sandhi in Rasi chart along with Venus, Saturn and Ascendant degree. Venus is in Moon's star, Moon in Mercury ruled Virgo Lagna, and Venus rules the 2H. Moon is in Mars star, getting 10H aspect from Saturn conjoined this Jupiter. Mars is also in this Jupiter's star and as you said is in parivartana with Mercury. Kindest regards, Patrice ___________ Satyam Bruyat Priyam Bruyat Dear Learned Members, I am posting Chart for a gentleman who has a speech disorder. The relevant points that I noticed are as follows: 1. 2nd House: Sun and Mercury placed in 2nd, aspected (graha drsiti) by none. Jupiter is the naisargika karka for 2nd house though Mercury is karka for speech. I wonder if 'karka bhava hrasya' will apply in this case! 2. 2nd lord: Mars placed in 9th. Lord placement is 8th from its house and that would afflict the 2nd house. Mars however is in parivartana with Mercury. That is like Mars in own house, wonder which 2nd or 9th!. If 9th it is aspected by Saturn and Jupiter and Jupiter should protect! Mars is its own MTK house in Navamsa. 3. Mercury as Karka for speech: Conjoint with Sun and no aspects, lord of 9th and 12th. 4. 2nd house from Mercury: Cova suggests checking 2nd from Mercury. Guest guest
Dear Ramesh, If you see the Arudha Lagna of 2nd house i.e. Capricorn the 4th house whose lord Saturn is posited in 12th house i.e. Sagittarius (so loss of second house results in a way is indicated). Since it is with the house lord itself i.e. Jupiter remedy is being given to the native through an astrologer of knowledge. It also reflects that the disorder will be curbed with right remedies. Therefore, a remedy for Lord Saturn is strongly required for the person to recover from the speech disorder. Hope the above hint is helpful for you to give remedies the person concerned. It is true that astro.com give the time zone as 4 hrs. I am a little confused. I live in Dubai which has a time zone of 4hrs, 1 hr 30 mins behind India and since I deal with Bahrain I am aware that Bahrain is 1 hr behind Dubai. I wonder if Bahrain was following different time earlier and made some change now! I will investigate further. Guest guest
Dear Ramesh, Have you checked the accuracy of Ascendant? 2nd house would represent Vacha, so toungue related affliction of spech would come under its purview. If the problem is with vocal chords then 3rd house would come in to play. Also check strength/affliction of 2nd house lord and planets placed in 2nd to be able to understand the reason behind the speech disability. If it is a stammer check for affliction to 5th and Moon. Chandrashekhar. Ramesh Gangaramani wrote: Satyam Bruyat Priyam Bruyat Dear Learned Members, I am posting Chart for a gentleman who has a speech disorder. Guest guest
Dear Patrice, It is Khanda+Anta which overtime got corrupted to Gandanta. It means end of a part of the Zodiac. It therefore occurs only between certain adjoining Nakshatra padas. Chandrashekhar. Patrice Curry wrote: Dear Jai, PL software which I use and others, gives degrees in navamsa. I thought gandantha happens whenever a planet is placed in the revati-end/asvini-begining, etc - i.e. nakshatra gandantha. How many other types of gandathas are possible? I saw elsewhere something about tithi gandantha. Thanks much. Regards, - Jai
Guest guest
Dear Ramesh, Why the confusion? every longitude away from GMT represents 4 minutes of time approximately, so the time would be , in fact about 3 Hr.s 22 minutes or so, added to GMT. Correction for Lattitude would have to be factored in. Chandrashekhar. Ramesh Gangaramani wrote: Satyam Bruyat Priyam Bruyat Dear Patrice, Thank you for your response.
