Guest guest Report post Posted April 6, 2006 The Krsna consciousness movement is spreading all over the world with two aims -- to establish Krsna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead and to kill all the pretenders who falsely present themselves as avataras. The preachers of the Krsna consciousness movement must carry this conviction very carefully within their hearts and kill the demons who in many tactful ways vilify the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna. If we take shelter of Nrsimhadeva and Prahlada Maharaja, it will be easier to kill the demons who are against Krsna and to thus reestablish Krsna's supremacy. >>> Ref. Kulapavana 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 would you care to elaborate, what kind of "killing" Srila Prabhupada has in mind here?
Guest guest Report post Posted May 7, 2006 Did SP actually recommend killing?
Jahnava Nitai Das 2 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 I think taking a quote like this seperate from its context (within the complete teachings of Prabhupada) creates an incorrect understanding. I don't see any point in distributing such things, especially to those who may not have read the complete teachings of Prabhupada. Prabhupada never advocated killing anyone, but distributing small clippings like this will give people the wrong idea that he did. It is a poetic usage connected to vinashayam ca dushkritam, the three reasons for Krishna's incarnation - one of which is to destroy the demons. vrajavasi 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 Radhe Krishna, Yes. Vinashaya cha dushkruthaam. I have come across an interesting purport in this regard which I give below. In the above sentence why instead of "Vinaashaya Dushkrutham" it has been mentioned "Vinashaya cha dushkrutham"? It has been explained as below. God actually give opportunity to people indulging in "Dushkrityas" to correct themselves. If the errenous souls correct themselves God does not go for "Vinasham". Had it been "Vinashaya dushkrutham" - It would have been getting rid of all Dushkritya prakruthees. Since it had been "Vinaashaya cha dushkrutam" - Vinasham - only if errenous souls dont rectify themselves. Radhe Krishna
Kulapavana 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 Vinasham - only if errenous souls dont rectify themselves. two points: 1. how much time do they have to rectify themselves? 2. the administration of such a punishment seems to be reserved for Krsna alone and can hardly be taken to indicate merely a physical killing of the body. vrajavasi 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2006 Radhe Krishna, Kulapavanaji, Radhe Krishna, your answer - question contains answers. That much time as krishna deems fit would be necessary depending upon the past and present karmas. Vinasham - if i understand it correctly - sort of destructin of body. Since, Krishna's attention is to the soul - it is the question of time - as to how many births the soul is supposed to take - to reach the lotus feet of lord. Again a question for which lord knows the answer better. Radhe Krishna
