Jai Sri krishna

I was just reading the details of the Narasimha Jayanthi festival program at the Iskcon temple in Mayapur (on the Mayapur website). The Leaflet explains that the ugra Narasimha-deity in ISKCON mayapur is the only one of its kind. Its explains how the deity in that form appeared in the temple leaders dream, who asked an artisan to carve it as such. The artisan however was warned by his gurudeva not to carve this specific form of the deity. But then he changed his mind and the Deity was carved and now receives great worship at mayapur.

I realise that Narasimha vigraha puja is not for everyone as one must be very advanced to worship this form of the lord in deity or salagram form due to the radiance of the lord. This is particulary true of the Lords fierce forms (ugra) thus householder prefer to worship His more calm forms such as Lakshmi- or Prahalada Narasimha. Now there are many Ugra Narasimha deities all over india, what makes the Sri Mayapur Ugra Narasimha-murthi so unique???????????????

Jai Sri Krishna!!!!

Jai Jai Sri Mayapur Ugra Narasimha Murthi!!!!!!!!
