satnam,

I hear your call. It is difficult to quit when you want to.

Since I don't smoke I hope I can help with a few tips.

Find friends that don't smoke.Consciousness is like a disease it spreads.Keep

it out of your home as much as you can.

Eat raisons it replaces the nutrient you lose and crave.

Do lots of breath of fire breathing

Read up on lung disease and the pain associated with it.

Keep saying I love myself and smoking will make me ill. It is not my friend

Find another friend to replace smoking.Kundalini is a great friend.

Take up a hobby or sport that uses your hands in a positive way

You are entitled to live healthy happy and holy Work towards it.If you take

one step forward, God takes a hundred towards you

Keep up

Hello all

I keep following your posts as always with interest. I keep failing my stop

smoking attempts and each time it becomes harder and harder. Each time I

stop, something or someone comes along that stresses me out. What do I do?

Reach for the cigarettes. Tried not having cigs in the house... what do I

do? Go out nd buy them. I need to find other ways to deal with the problems

that life sends... that's the hard part. But I keep going, keep

persevering... I'll get their in the end!!

A question based on .

Metaphysical healer Louise L.Hay says that sinus problem

often occurs when we are close to people who disturb us...

Is there a site on the web that deals with the "meaning" of ailments. I'd be

interested in having a look at it.

Thanks for all the helpful posts tha you folks put out.

hi and sat nam,

she's got many books out, and a small one about "the mental cause

for physical illness and the metaphysical way to overcome them",

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0937611352/qid=1033766419/sr=2-3/ref=

sr_2_3/103-8737531-6417467

but I think in another one she writes about smoking addiction,

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1561706280/qid=1033766419/sr=2-1/ref=

sr_2_1/103-8737531-6417467

I think, smoking or any other addiction, comes from a place inside of us

where we are afraid of something. Sometimes just to realize our own

patterns or fears can solve a lot...

good luck and let me know if I can help you more,

I guess there are quite a few people in this group

who are wanting, willing, wishing to quit smoking.

I have a proposal to these folks. Let's do our own

research study to see if a few things would help

you quit.

For the next one week, can you please try the

following:

1) Jal-neti ( I just sent a mail on how to do this ).

This will certainly make breathing easier. When

there is more oxygen flow, the urge to grab a

cigar will also come down.

To do jal-neti, you dont need a fancy neti pot.

Just have a bottle with a spout. I bought a small

such plastic bottle for $2 at Fred Meyers ( it was

to drink juices or something but I removed the

straw ) and it works fine.

2) Do the following yoga exercises in the morning

and in the evening. They will probably take only a

about 5-10 minutes.

Bridge, Wheel, Fish, Cobra, Bow, Camel, and Cat Poses.

All these exercises work on your chest expansion,

and make breathing easier. They are simple too.

If you don't know how to do these exercises, you may

look up

http://voth.hec.utah.edu/~gayathri/yoga_poses.html

As we progress, we will build up with additional

steps to improve on overall health and quit smoking

completely. But, let's start small. If you start

on the above exercises and break it, it is

OK. Just try again. It takes a while to see

improvements. So, hang in there and try the above

things as regularly as you can.

I strongly believe that the above simple steps

can enormously help to quit smoking. Well, I

dont know how it is to smoke or quit smoking.

So, I would need your feedbacks and updates on

your progress, as we move on.

Good luck!
