I've heard and also read somewhere that God Khandoba is Martand

Bhairav. There are many Khandoba temples I guess.

Yes, Khandoba is a deity worshipped in Maharashtra, Karnatak and AP,

and is commonly identified with Martanda bhairava in the Sanskrit

stala puranas of this region and their local language digests. The

story goes that Martanda Bhairava incarnated as Khandobha to slay to

demons called Malla and Mani. *Jejuri* is the most famous Kshetra of

Khandoba and is described in the Purana called Malhari Maahatmyam as

M.Bhairava's Jagrt Kshetra.

However, this identification is largely unknown to the tribal and

nomad worshipers of Khandobha.

There is another deity in tribal Maharashtra called Bairoba and

another Biroba who are commonly identified with Kala Bhairava and

Virabhadra.

The Khandoba/Martanda Bhairava temple is beautiful. It is on a hill top around 30 kilometers from Pune on the old route to Pandharpur. It is near a small town called Saswad. Turmeric powder is very dear to him.

From Pune, you can take a bus to Saswad and then from there to Jejuri- you can also get direct buses from Hadapsar to Jejuri.
