UPDATE: Lost in the Khadgamala Stotram

Upon close examination, the problem with the Khadgamala Stotram

presentation is not Guruji's mp3 presentation (which is perfect; no

big surprise there, eh?) ...

It's the text, which is corrupted. Sri Bhasurananda Natha just spent

the last few hours going through it line by line; I will proofread his

results tonight and post Devanagari and Roman transliterations

tomorrow, and English within a day or two ...

Hokay? ;-)

You see its very simple; Amrita while reciting expanded the nyasas and the

mental pooja part that is all. The mantra part is OK.

All members following the Khadgamala Devis Series, take note:

A corrected text of the Khadgamala Stotram (i.e. one that matches

Guruji's mp3) has been uploaded to the FILES section (click menu at

left and select Sri Devi Khadga Mala Stotram.doc ... ) This document

contains the Stotram in Devanagari script and Roman transliteration.

The English translation should be ready by week's end, so stand by.

I've also uploaded a folder (appearing just below the document on the

FILES list) which contains all fonts necessary to properly view the

Stotram document on your computer. If you upload these into your

computer's Fonts directory, MS Word should call them up automatically.

This is a temporary situation. By this time next week, I'll create a

single page -- a "Khadgamala Practice Kit" containing Guruji's MP3,

the complete corrected text in Sanskrit and transliteration, a

complete English translation, practice notes, and all necessary fonts.

This page will be easily reachable by clicking on the featured

Khadgamala Devi pic on the group's front page.

How's that sound? Any suggestions or advice on further facilitating

easy use of the Khadgamala Stotram will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Everything printed just fine (with the fonts.)

Namaste,

I cannot read the file in the Files section. When I open it it

doesn't look right. So I think I must need the files. But when I open

the files, nothing changes. I tried to copy the .ttf files to my

System folder and nothing changes.

I really don't know how to make this work and I still cannot read

this or make use of it.

I'm feeling frustrated, because I know you've done a lot of work and

I keep reading that it's very simple.

did you load the .ttf files to the folder windows/fonts?

prainbow61 <paulie-rainbow wrote: Namaste,

I cannot read the file in the Files section. When I open it it

doesn't look right. So I think I must need the files. But when I open

the files, nothing changes. I tried to copy the .ttf files to my

System folder and nothing changes.

I really don't know how to make this work and I still cannot read

this or make use of it.

I'm feeling frustrated, because I know you've done a lot of work and

I keep reading that it's very simple.

Hi Paulie:

Yes, I'd agree with kochu that you ought to check and see if the

files actually got added to your Fonts folder. If they're not there,

that's your problem. If they are, trying shutting down the comp and

restarting. If that doesn't work, select a block of sanskrit 99 text

from the document and manually reselect sanskrit 99 from the fonts

drop-down menu. That should trigger the whole document to reformat

itself with the proper fonts.

If all that fails, I'll simply mail you the document as a hard copy.

So no problems!

Good luck

Namaste,

The next time I am up at my family's home I'll check and see if the

fonts are in the folder. But now I'm just a guest at the library so

that's not possible.

I do appreciate all of your help and I apologize for my ongoing

frustration.

Blessings,

Sooooooooooooo NOT working.

How do I copy the fonts from the Files folder to my Fonts folder?

When I right click on the .ttf files in the Files folder my options

do not include copy. They include copy shortcut and they include

Open.

What do I do?

what one does is copy the files to desktop; then open the windows/fonts folder

and rightclick and drag them into the folder.

do not include copy. They include copy shortcut and they include

Open.

What do I do?

Blessings Sankara,

There is nothing for me to copy.

There are only shortcuts here, there are no fonts here.

How is it that I can copy them?

I click on the *.ttf file and drag it to the desktop, it is only a

shortcut, not a font.

I right click on the *.ttf file and COPY is not any of the options,

only COPY SHORTCUT.

Please try this yourself and tell me how it is done. I would very

very very much like to accomplish this.

Please send me your mailing address off-board (I know we exchanged

some pleasant snail-mail correspondence some time ago, but I seem to

have lost the address :-p) ... I will see to it that you have the

complete printout (and maybe even the work-in-progress English

translation) within a matter of days ...

Namaste,

I have forwarded to you my address. I hope I was at least able to do

that right.

I understand that I may have committed an unintended offense by

greeting Sankara with "blessings" if that is the case, please accept

my apologies and attribute my error to ignorance rather than malice.

Dear Paulie:

Please don't feel bad about the fonts thing. It's entirely possible

that you're doing everything right and your word processor program is

just refuses to respond for its own binary reasons. :-) When I first

loaded Sanskrit 99 & Co. onto my PC, it took all kinds of initial

tinkering to make it work right. With patience and persistance,

you'll figure it out eventually. Whatever you do, please don't beat

yourself up about it!

As for blessings, I can't imagine what the offense might have been,

and I definitely wouldn't worry about it. I think most of us are

happy to accept whatever blessings we can get! ;-)

Wamest wishes -- cheer up, hokay?

"I have forwarded to you my address. I hope I was at least able to do

that right."

LOL. I am about to ask you the same thing. Oh! give me your address

and I will send the printed copy of the Khadgamala. But Devi Bhakta

beat me on this. LOL.

"I understand that I may have committed an unintended offense by

greeting Sankara with "blessings" if that is the case, please accept

my apologies and attribute my error to ignorance rather than malice."

I dont think so you have committed anything. I am sure Kochu is

honoured to receive your blessings. We have very high opinion of you.

After reading your story about some of the ritual you have done, I

might be the next person who will be seeking your blessings.

Why Paulie? why can't you bless? Whatever gave you the idea that you have

offended me? Let me make it clear you did not

I have forwarded to you my address. I hope I was at least able to do that right.

I understand that I may have committed an unintended offense by greeting Sankara

with "blessings" if that is the case, please accept my apologies and attribute

my error to ignorance rather than malice.

to ur heart.

LOL. I am about to ask you the same thing. Oh! give me your address

and I will send the printed copy of the Khadgamala. But Devi Bhakta

beat me on this. LOL.

greeting Sankara with "blessings" if that is the case, please accept

my apologies and attribute my error to ignorance rather than malice."

I dont think so you have committed anything. I am sure Kochu is

honoured to receive your blessings. We have very high opinion of you.

After reading your story about some of the ritual you have done, I

might be the next person who will be seeking your blessings.

Namaste,

LOL! You are all very sweet to me! This has been a very cheering

exchange. I have a smile on my face.

Sankara, you may have whatever blessings are in my heart, some of

them nurtured and awakened by your influence here, especially by the

things that make me smile and get me back in touch with Devi's joy.

I look forward to getting this information from DB. Although Devi

clearly shows me that She is requiring only my seeking, not my

finding at this time.

She is so gentle.

Blessings,
