  2. HI, I was watching "Sampoorna ramayana" and was touched to see how Rama carries out the exile order by his stepmother so fondly. Nextday I was involved in a auto accident and the shock of it had affected me for a day.The kind of effects of illusion on us is so much.I had this conversation with God and am not ashamed to say it "Why me,I am thinking always of you please save me,give me an answer, what happened to all the wisdom which was gifted by you? I was browsing through the postings at this wedsite which took me on to another and then another and was reading an author who describes the instructions of Christ to his disciples,Chaitanya in his sikshatakam, words of Santa Tukkaram and sensed how God spoke to me at my hour of need. I want to share some of the consoling words here. These selected verses are from "STOTRA RATNA",The Hymn-Jewel of Sri Yamunacarya, the Guru Deva of Sri Ramanuja acarya. (23) "There is not a single despicable deed in the world which has not been committed by me thousands of times. O Mukunda! Now,when those deeds are fructifying,I such a person, cry out helplessly before Thee." (26) "O Mahesa, even if Thou drivest me away,I CANNOT relinquish Thy lotus-feet; a suckling doesnot atall desire to leave its mother's feet any time, even though IT HAS BEEN REJECTED by her in anger." some more quotes " LIFT UP YOUR HEART TO ME IN HEAVEN and you WILL NOT be concerned at your being CONDEMNED by men UPON EARTH. In the same context I also read that a devotee saying if it brings pleasure to seeing me suffer then suffer be it my Lord. My prayer :Lord, forgive me again for the offenses committed at your Lotus feet and thanks for the wisdom and saving me and bringing me back in to the path of service understanding the secrets of non resiprocal love. Thanks Thanks Thanks
  3. Hi. Thankyou for the explanations and anticipating for more information on Srimadbhagavatam. Thanks
  4. Hi, We clearly see in our daily experiences several individuals who pocess things that they don't deserve.Their deeds are in no ways anything compared to the deeds one would have in serving a noble cause. This in itself is a proof that there is reincarnation they must have done some good deeds in their previous births. Again we also find a new born crippled child and other abnormalities, now how is this infant even accountable when its life as a human being has just begun again its reincarnation thats the answer. It could be because of its previous birth. The near death experiences of some of them are awarded to some people because they did some noble deeds in their previous birth.Again the extent of their experience is also according to their deeds( present or past). Some of the experinces they have could be elevation to the higher planets but may not be the ultimate abode of the Lord. At the time of death whats going to happen to us is something we all wait till our time of death to experience. The body of ours dwindles thats something that we have seen.We have heard that we think of at the time of birth is what we become so we know what we should try to think. If we identify ourselves with our soul then we know the soul is unborn so no death. For the soul departing from a body is not anything new it has seen it several times. Its like energy which becomes from electrical to kinetic and to mechanical and is taking different energy forms. Every moment we are dying and getting a day closer to death. So we are in someway having near death expeinces. For some it may be happiness and bliss and some it may be like Ajamila who was been claimed by both the Yamdutas and by Vishnudutas. Thanks
  5. Hi, I understood the website in the following way. Vyasadeva the renowned scholar got his knowledge from SriNaradamuni who frequents all the realms but known to be more in the Vaikunta realm. He has himself claimed that he would not be able to describe the Vraja pastimes. When he delivered the divine knowledge to Vyasa may not have gone indepth which does not mean he doesnot know that the vraja pastimes are the highest in the spiritual bhavas. The article further mentions that the guru might know but may not mention even once, the knowledge gets transmitted to the disciples.Another aspect is the backgroung of Suka's birth he was already in the vraja realm so he substantiating about Vraja makes more relevence.Even he says he could not take Radha's name meaning none other than her could satisfy the Lord. A particular father has an asset he passes it on to his son and his further enhances its value by working on it doesnot definitely exclude the father to have never had the asset.Every birth has its own purpose and great saints like them deliver us with their exclusive knowledge. Even the Lord has taught in each of his avataras this aspect where in the Sri Ramayana he does'nt speak about "Gita" but exclusively in the "Krishnaavatara".
  6. Please go through this website as it tells about Vyasadeva,Sukadeva and Lord Shiva's position in understanding Srimatiradhadevi. http://www.gosai.com/chaitanya/saranagati/html/nmj_articles/vyasa_knows.html I will have to agree on the fact that whether we accept it or not or have found several things in history to contradict it the truth is unchangeble. Whether be it "the rasa pastimes or the words of wisdom told by the Lord in the form of Gita, the parental attitude of Yashodadevi, feelings of seperation by the gopis" when one starts enjoying them the joy is unexplainable. Then every object around you, every emotion, even movie songs sounds relevent. If somebody says "cheezbadi hai musth ..."is attributed to the Lord and his spiritual qualities. Thanks
  7. Hi Thats very nice, I have not been able to complete 16 rounds.May be I should do it and I've seen when I do sixteen rounds thats completly another feeling.(its undescribale joy) I definitely agree that these things makes us loose focus but when you have decided to lead a household life worshipping of the Lord should be syncranised withthe daily activities.Certainly watching movies is not going to contribute to any service to the Lord. The gopi's maintained a secret relationship with the Lord and so we don't want to show our relationship withthe Lord to everyone in our household life.We can go with their rhythm but pursue our interests of serving the Lord is what I intended to say. Revered Vyasa in his several works has clearly mentioned how the Lord has appeared and explained the divine truth according to the times and trends relevent then.We can continue to use modern technology and its means to serve the Lord and remember his sweet pastimes. The gopi's had to cook, churn yogurt, dress up,take care of babies, husband, family but they did all this with the Lord in mind. We have to continue our duties to the family and society we are living with but like you mentioned do the chanting( the prescribed path for Kaliyuga)or yes!again like you said another birth where even the aspect of serving Lord would not be even remembered by us. Thanks
  8. There are several bhavas for worshipping the Lord like the parental bhava, friendly bhava, love bhava, neutral bhava as in veneration etc. Each individual have their own bhavas and the Lord resiprocates inthe the same fashion. The gopi's bhava is considered the highest for several reasons of which some are 1)they are already great saints who wanted to experience the Lord's pastimes in the feminine form,2)its mentioned inthe brahmasamhita the Lord also experiences the same pastimes in his eternal form with the gopis at GolokaVrindavana and I think the list goes on. The material world is just a perverted reflection of the spiritual one.Its like the reflection of the mountain and the forest on the river which exactly like the same but second one is just a reflection. The bhavas experienced by the gopis seem very familiar to the one experienced by people on the material plane but definitely are different. All the aspects of the spiritual world have its reflections here but definitely different due to the plane variation. We are in a position to understand the spiritual world more because of these aspects present in our world also. In a way we all maybe are supposed to have this feminine aspect irrespective of the male and female aspect in us to develop this love towards the one Purusha also referred as the "Purushottama" Thanks
  9. Hi I did see some of the episodes of Vishnupuran,SriKrishna,Ramayana,Mahabharatha etc and they were exceptionally well taken in showing the Lord's pastimes. The complete effort in depicting the Lord's compassion to his devotees is very appreciable and we must watch more of these episodes to understand our philosophy and uplift our spiritual thinking. Infact the movies I mentioned are'nt completely up to the mark but if we had to do mundane activities and still not deviate from our spiritual quest then these movies would'nt let us stray away very far. Actually its nice that they are taking more of episodes like Mahabharat etc with subtitles in other languages so people in other countries can follow them.Sometimes it is nice to see how our culture is experienced by westerners more because of their situations of life being very different from ours. Its more like how the gopis in the absence of Lord Krishna looks at creatures and nature around and remind themselves of their association with the Lord when he had his pastimes at Vrindavana. Again it definitely bothers us if moviemakers etc don't interpret it in the right way but a step taken is better than not taken. I heard that there is this another one coming called "Gitarahasya" and am eager to watch it. Thanks
  10. Hi, I am sure many have already seen but just to remind many who might have missed it,you must watch this movie"little Buddha".Its very well taken and certainly beeen a window for seeing the lifestyles of people around Buddha's time. There is this other movie which many might disagree because it does have adult language etc but some of the core concepts are well shaped in the movie. The name of the movie is "The holyman". I can tell you some of the topics in the above movies are very relevant to our discussions. Bye Thanks
  11. Hi, It is indeed a very agreed fact that putting it to practice is unbeievebly hard. However it can be compared to that of a shot when we go to get one the doctor knows its painful, you know its painful but both know its for your good so you go ahead and get it. Similiarly we have go through it in this life which is just a fraction of a second like that of a shot. As we all know that the time factor is completely different in the elevated planets above earthly time factors. We recieve the benefit only in the life after but thats like the benefit we get for being vaccinated for life.I hope the point made is clear. Its very hard, really hard but than not taking it and facing ugly consequences lets just go ahead and take a shot at it like the "SHOT" mentioned above with just only the aspiration of being freed for the rest of lifetime. The effect of Maya is very immediate and it can be spotted early by those who had taken up this spiritual discipline and just fell out of it and noticed that they only fell into Maya's hands. The realization is so immediate that one runs back to God pleading to be aplologised and helped out of the clutches od Maya immediately. Its harsh to put it this way but its like"with God or without"more like "do or die".What was mean't here is that an individual gets to gradually sense that either you follow the discipline or you suffer the burning consequences. Even as saying this I am not sure how we are going to do it but for now we know this is the truth, may be every day we have to attempt at it a little by little. May be this is the stage when we stop asking all the other needs of ours from GOd and just ask for the ability to do unhindered service. We don't have to leave our material duties and become a recluse but instead submit and surrender the results to God.If you write ,write for him,if you paint, paint for him,if work on the computer, discuss withother devotees. One can figure it out over a point of time. Thanks
  12. Hi, The nature of human beings is to always question when it comes to spirituality. This is done essentially because of the discipline involved in it. Man from the time of his birth has been disciplined in one way or another. The newborn gets used to waking, eating, diaper changes, sleeping according to day and night.Eventually as the baby becomes a toddler every naughty deed is accordingly disciplined. The growing up years are all disciplined and after a point the child realises that it is very rewarding to be disciplined."Teenage" comes the phase when again the processes go on and then now becoming an adult the individual subjects himself to specific channels of education were discipline is involved.Marriage,Raising kids again of your own, retiring, end of earthly life has all along been through discipline as we notice. It is tough no doubt like on a Monday morning we have that very sad feeling as one knows "schedule" begins again.Nevertheless we have to do it and we know if we stray away we end up in more trouble.Worshipping God in whose creation we have been following all this discipline also involves some discipline. Why is it sometimes we do everything like our showering, cleaning, eating, working, sleeping but put our appointment with GOD to the last or if even skip it. Sometimes when we are tired we even think "oh everything needs to be done in a orderly fashion, can't we afford to miss our time with God (taking for granted) there is always a tommorow".It is for this reason perhaps spirituality has always had discipline. In folllowing this we notice that differences are united making the saying "In God we are one".The difficulties of day to day life and the associatted stress with it is easened. The realisation that none of them affect the soul, the constant striving we do for love, the quest for peace is achieved. The reward for this discipline is far more than the sum result of all the disciplines mankind follows that the testimonies for this is found in religion. Some of them are beyond the perception of our material senses that we find it hard to believe. The discipline of spirituality is so pwerful that it makes us perfect ,so we understand the testimonies and achieve the ultimate service of God( the creator of all disciplines).
  13. The purpose of life is to serve God and sing the glories of his name, form and qualities. Its like tiny iron fragments which are attracted to the magnet no matter they are in a pile of dirt or gold. The soul is eternally attracted to the Lord whether it is going through phases of being dormant or active in doing what it longs to do.Life is a practice ground for doing this hence we are always either serving a person, a cause,an organisation so on and soforth. We have to keep building tanks and storage areas for rain water to accumulate so one fine day when rain does come we don't feel its too late.Rain comes according to when it wants to but our preparation is what we have to concentrate on.We have to keep doing this service but whether we can get to see GOD face to face, talk to him, ask questions, serve his divine personality in his very form is according to what he desires for us. I had once heard this and it only then made sense as to why we have to do our service relentlessly without expectations. The learned say that while doing this service we become very purified that we hardly have any expectations henceforth but just the motive of serving with all love and affection. One day when rain does come (or God appears)it is so rewarding than what we would have got from any of the services we performed in any of the material avenues. It is beyond comparison to anything material but it does not stop there we still continue our service and we do it eternally. We can do this with ease because of ages of practice and familiarity of this noble work. Thanks
