  1. This post sparked my interest a bit because one doesn't typically think of something like wine being non-vegetarian. Just goes to show you how many animal parts and byproducts are used today. While I didn't see anything about pig's blood, it is true that many wines aren't vegetarian. Many wine makers use animal products for wine clarifying. Some of these things include gelatin, milk, isinglass (fish byproduct). I had no idea that was the case.
  2. On another note, pet food companies use animal parts that were unused from meat facilities, like brain matter, spines, etc. So you have to make sure the food you buy your pet (if you have one) doesn't contain these things. They are typically called Byproducts or Meal on the ingredient label (chicken byproduct, chicken meal). The companies that stay away from them will usually have some sort of label on their package saying byproduct free. We use Pet Promise for our pets, but there are other brands, and even vegetarian brands as well.
  3. I thought it was fitting because this was a topic of being "puffed up and thinking you are advanced." It certainly wasn't meant to be negative in any way, and I had no negative motives behind posting it. Thanks for your opinion my friend, be well.
  4. It reminds me of the situation recently, where the FDA decided that eating meat from cloned animals was ok, and that the food didnt need special labels to notify people that the meat they are purchasing is cloned. Just another thing that these poor animals and the people that do eat meat must go through, unfortunately.
  5. There is a quote from the Tao Te Ching thats seems fitting here: "To know that you do not know is highest, to not know but think you know is flawed." Be well!

    brief introduction

Good to hear that you are getting back into teaching, and even better to hear that you have overcome brain cancer! I noticed this because my wife is going through her certification for Kundalini Yoga currently. She has learned a lot so far, and so have I. I'm sending you an e-mail or private message so that I may be able to direct you towards an answer to your question. Talk to you soon!
  7. I would say that having anyone around you that is being kind to you, and helping you guide yourself, would be someone to keep around. Regardless of religion, we can learn from one another. How wonderful that is.
  8. Hello, I was just reading this because its subject has caught my interest. I'm new here, and I wanted to share my experience with Kundalini. I was recently introduced to Kundalini Yoga (due to my wife) in the summer of last year, and since then, my wife has been involved in learning Kundalini Yoga so that she may become a teacher. She is going through a program that requires her to complete many ours of not just Kundalini Yoga but other types of Yoga as well. While I can't comment on how it relates to Hinduism because I have very little knowledge of it (thats why I'm here), I can tell you that her teachers and the people involved are some of the kindest, most caring people I have ever met. I'm not sure who Guruvani is, and I'm certainly not here to debate his/her knowledge, or to debate anything for that matter. From what I see though, what my wife is learning, and subsequently passing on to me, is knowledge of the body, mind, and spirit. She has never been required or even asked to do anything that she didn't feel comfortable doing. There have never been any stipulations attached to her practicing Kundalini Yoga, and there most certainly have never been any negative/evil teachings. She would be the first one to leave if there had been. As I said earlier, I'm not here to debate, I just wanted to share my experience regarding Kundalini. Others are certainly entitled to their opinions without question from myself or anyone else. Be well!
