  1. I am just reproducing what JN Das prabhu said in one of the threads The shiva-tattva category refers to the unlimited forms of Lord Shiva, from Sadashiva and Shambhu down to his lower material counterparts. As all vishnu-tattva forms are a single personality, in the same way all the shiva-tattva forms are a single personality expanding in a variety of forms. As all vishnu-tattva forms are a single personality, in the same way all the shiva-tattva forms are a single personality expanding in a variety of forms. Though Lord Shiva is eternal and beyond time , some of his forms manifested in the material world are temporary. They do not undergo death or the influence of time, but they are withdrawn by Lord Shiva according to his will (and later remanifested in the next creation). Lord shiva manifests his countless forms in each and every universe, of which there are innumerable. The shiva-tattva is a unique expansion from the vishnu-tattva for the purpose of interacting with the material nature. Vishnu, being nirguna, does not come in contact with the material nature. Instead he acts through the shiva-tattva, just as a cook indirectly stirs boiling soup with the help of a spoon, some of his forms manifested in the material world are temporary. 2. Vaishnava_das108 : The devatas are not eternal. At the time of the final devastation, everyone is dead. Including devatas like Shiva, Ganesh, etc. Only Krishna and His eternal associates exist in their uninterrupted pastimes in Goloka Vrindavan. I: I have heard that Shiva is eternal. Have I heard it wrong? Thanks
  3. I have heard that the hunter was vali of ramayana, Don't know how true it is but as Vali was killed by the lord when he descended as Rama, Vali wanted to do the same to the lord so being merciful as he is, the lord gave him the oppurtunity to do so.
  4. Thanks very much streetstrawji. I mostly drink soya milk now and I am enjoying it immensely. It tastes so good and my wife is changing to soya milk from today as well. Life feels so good now. Thanks once again KB/KK
  5. Even I would like to know if in Kalisantarana Upanishad of the Yajur Veda its Hare Rama first then Hare Krishna why do we chant it as Hare krishna first. I am sorry for my ignorance but I am just a bit curious about this. I am not looking for any scriptural verse to support anything, I just want to know of this out of curiosity. Prabhuji please help.
  6. Hare Krsna This is what I could find on the net I am not sure of the authenticity, maybe some of the learned souls here could help. In article <3g4bq8$ds1@ucunix.san.uc.edu>, anand hudli <ahudli@silver.ucs.indiana.edu> wrote: > sa hovaca hiraNyagarbhah | > Tr: Lord Brahma said: > hare rAma hare rAma rAma rAma hare hare | > Tr: O Hari, O Rama, O Hari, O Rama , O Rama O Rama, O Hari, O Hari! > hare kRShNa hare kRShNa kRShNa kRShNa hare hare | > Tr: O Hari, O Krishna, O Hari, O Krishna , O Krishna O Krishna, > O Hari, O Hari! > Note: Gaudiyas chant this mantra by reversing the order of> the two halves, ie. the Hare Krishna first and then the Hare Rama. Actually, there has been a good reason for this reversal. This is how I have heard the story; I welcome any corrections. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu wanted to spread this maha-mantra to all the fallen souls of Kali Yuga, regardless of qualification. Now, technically, there are Vedic injunctions that the Vedic mantras (such as this mantra of the Kalisantarana Upanishad) are not to be publically chanted, and they are never to be chanted by sudras, women, etc. In order to solve the problem, while keeping within the context of the Vedas and thus not offending the Brahmins, Mahaprbhu reversed the two halves. It is equally potent either way and this way it can be freely distributed, chanted in sankirtan, etc. Also, they seem to believe that the name Rama here indicates Balabhadra and not Ramacandra! Now there are Actually, there are a considerable number of explanations even among Gaudiya Vaisnava acaryas on the name-by-name explanation of this maha-mantra. Some say "rAma" means Ramacandra, others Balarama. Others point to a scriptural verse that indicates that rAma means "rAdhA-ramana", or Krishna. Similarly, "hare" is seen as both vocative of "hari" and of "harA", the latter a name of Radharani. Below is the link from which I have reproduced part here http://www.hindunet.org/alt_hindu/1995_Jan_2/msg00041.html Hare Krsna
  7. Thanks very much jndas prabhuji. The lord was very fond of milk but can we offer it to him because he doesn't state so. I am asking this question because I read it somewhere in archive that just because shivji used to enjoy bhang, we as humans should not consume it or offer it. Just the same way can't we say that the lord enjoys milk but we are not to offer that to our lord. I am full of ignorance prabhuji , please forgive me but I really want to know about this because the kind of torture that us humans are doing on cows just for milk that the lord might never forgive us. I just feel by drinking this milk I am doing a grave sin. Thanks prabhuji for clarifing my doubts. may the lord always bless everybody
  8. Greetings to everyone, My very first post here and thanks to all the good souls here that I have learnt a few things about the lord. Just a question which has been bothering me for sometime. “If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it.” (Bg. 9.26) If we have to eat everything as krsna prasadam, then here the lord doesn't mention that we could offer milk to him. Is it specified anywhere that we could drink milk. Forgive my ignorance. I am a just a lowly soul. I have read a lot of post here and you are all very learned souls here. Please be kind enough to answer.
