    miracles

<<..How come hindu saints don't go out of their way to help people by performing miracles like their chritian couterparts?..> Because hindu saints doesn't want to advertise their religion. But they'll be known to people, and a lot of people go to them. Even if those saints want to cure a person, they cannot cure unless the person who has to be cured believe in that meditation. And a divine power is not something you go and show off. If you do so, people might start treating you like god, and you'll get ego, and you won't be able to concentrate on raising your kundalini. <<..raise your kundalini extremely high, how come one forgets about the suffering about common folk and concentrates on his/her spiritual needs..>> If someone raise their kundalini completely, they will become quite. It's not that they won't do miracles if you go to them with pure thoughts. <<..That may be a reason hindus never had a mother terresa like figure who cares about sick people..>> A lot of people like Mother Terresa are in India, helping a lot of sick people. You just don't know any of them. You should go to India and see what's going on in Vedic Land. Or just shut up. Help is there, you have to search for it.

It's that person's ability because it's their ability to raise the kundalini. Kundalini is raised by practicing yoga, and controlling the mind by the air you breathe. A yogi doesn't really have to believe in god. But in order to raise the kundalini, a yogi need his/her guru to help. But Kundalini is a way to go back to godhead. It's a feminine energy in our body. You can do all sort of things with your Kundalini raised. You can do the things such as bending a spoon by looking at them and all. I really don't know anything about yoga. But if you practice yoga, you can get your kundalini raised. Once it's fully raised, you'll realize god. And then, even if you are an aetheist, you'll know that god do exist. If you want to gain more physical strength to do all these things, do Yoga with a help of a good guru.
  4. <<..How come most of the ancient paintings portray the demons as dark skinned and gods as light skinned(with a few exceptions)..>> Why don't you name some demons who are dark skinned?

    miracles

Hindu sages have done a lot of miracles. I know a lot of Siva devotees who have done a lot of miracles (I don't know many Vishnu devotees' miracles, because I have learnt only a little about it, and just started now). Search for Nayanmaarkal. They have woken up dead bodies, and they've raised people from their ashes and all. I think Sai-Baba can do some tricks like that. It's really not a big deal. All you have to do is raise your kundalini, and when you are in the middle of that process, you can do miracles and tricks. But if you raise it completely, you won't do miracles, it's not that you can't, but you won't want to do it. When you get to that stage, you've already realized god, and you don't want to do anything after that. If your mind is strong, others can't do any miracles on you. You know some people I've seen on TV, when chrisitian people advertise for their religion by showing some tricks, when the person touches him/her, they faint, and some don't. It's becase of their mind. Weak mind people will faint easily. All is in your mind. There are a lot of hindu sages, yogis who can do all the miracles chrisitian sages can do. You have to find them, they won't find you. But hindu sages or yogis don't advertise about it. Cancer can be treated by practice of yoga, with a great guru. Some of christian miracles seems like actors who have been setted up to do. I'm not criticizing any religions or Jesus Christ, but they just seem so. Curing a person from snake bite is not a big deal. Anyone who knows the ancient vedic meditation methods can wake up those. Even after the heart stop beating. Your soul will not go out immidiately, it stays in your kundalini for some hours after your body is put to death. If someone can raise that soul to your forehead, or atleast stomach, you'll be saved. If not, well, that's all. So, the main point for meditation is to raise your kundalini, which is a hardest thing to do. Some websites offer sound tracks which they say can raise your kundalini, I'm not sure about it though. It's all in your mind. If you have a strong mind, no one can hypnotis you or do any tricks on you.
  6. <<..the main thing is how come 1 recognise in india of who comes from suerior race in india and who is not......the answer is simple...the more fair skinnedperson u find in india ...then more the aryan race conyent he has in him....and the more dark a person is ,,,then that shows the more of dravidic or indian race he has in him.......and one more thing aryans were not dark people who r dark and claim that they belong to aryan stock is totally .,these ppl who r black n claim so r actually talkinbullshit as they change their name castes to show ppl tht they r of superior stock..>> . man. In my opinion, your theory is completely wrong. Krishna was so dark. But people didn't think that he is not from superior race. I know that a lot of tamil (dravidian) politicians believe in Aryan Invasion Theory, and think that Aryan really invaded India and Sanatana Dharma was spread to control the dravidian. But this is not the case.

    Sex

If having sex but for enjoyment only is a crime, does it mean that self enjoyment (masturbation) is a very sinful thing to do? Does Hinduism prohibit masturbation like some other religions do?
  9. As far as I know, Hinduism doesn't deal with one's sexuality. It has higher purposes. But I cannot think of any reason why one cannot accept Homosexuality. A soul doesn't have any sex. Because it's in a man's body, and prefer a man, it doesn't mean that that soul is doing a crime or something. Once again, I'm not sure of those answers. Someone please tell me if I'm thinking wrongfully.
  10. Maadhav, there's only one way I can learn about Hinduism from, and it would be from internet. I'm just 16 years old man. And I don't think that if I go and ask my dad whether I can go and learn Hinduism in some classes, he would let me go. I really want to learn about it, and learning it from the internet, and asking questions whatever comes in my mind. Sorry if I had offended anyone.

    Meat

Hey... Thanks for clearing my misunderstanding. I had a conversation with my father about meat eating before, and he said that in Ramayana, Vishnu ate meat. That's why I got an idea that meat eating is not bad. Thank you all for clearing my big misunderstanding.

    Meat

But isn't killing an animal free that creature from it's Karma? And maybe, his next life might be human and he can gain the knowledge to get to godhead. And didn't God Vishnu eat meat? In Ramayana, he ate the meat when it was served by his devotee with pure love. A fisherman's job is to fish, he has to do it in order to survive. Isn't it what Gita or Ramayana says? And didn't Krishna say in Gita to Arjuna when he was afraid to go to war with his brothers that he would only kill the body not the soul? In Saivaism, Kanappa Nayanar was a wild man who lived in the forest and his job was hunting. He gave the meat to Lord Siva as a pooja thing, and the Brahmin who was doing Pooja there was angry about this act, and he asked the God why he would allow such an act, and who causes this. And God told that Brahmin in his dreams that the meat Kannapa Nayanar was serving was sweet than the flowers the brahmin was serving.
  13. <<..because it was Lord Vishnu who took form as Alexander the Great, Attila the Hun, Louis XIII, Queen Elizabeth, Jesus Christ, Kunta Kente and all other major leaders who ruled their kingdoms in tranquility..>> I don't think that most of the people are avatar of Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna only takes avatar in the world to do something that other humans possibly couldn't do. Those you mentioned are rulers who ruled the world. And If Jesus Christ was an incarnation of Lord Krishna, how come his point of view is totally different from Vedic people's point of view?
  14. Maadhav what's the matter with that line man? Why do you hate that line?
  15. Hinduism has it's border, and even the myths doesn't go out of the border, which is Himalayan Mountain. Or does it? Even in Gita, Krishna says Oh Bharat that I'll reincarnate to protect the world from demons. Why would he say "Bharat" why didn't he say "World"? And Vedic People had a lot of advanced technological weapons and everything, why didn't they use it to conquer the world? Why didn't they teach the world the ways of Hinduism? Why did Krishna choose to rule only Mathura? why didn't he rule the world, and teach the world the right things? Any specific reason?

    abortion

--People are interested to know that if females are regarded as a "lower birth" in Hinduism and therefore to abort them would not be considered as great a "sin" as killing a male child or not.-- This is a white lie. Hinduism doesn't let it's followers to kill even a bug, because it knows that even that bug has a soul. How do you expect a religion like that to let it's followers to kill girl child? You are probably a non-hindu. You should learn real hinduism from a good guru. Hinduism doesn't deal with one's sexuality or culture things, it has more important goal than that. It's true that women have been treated very badly in India, but it doesn't have anything to do with Hinduism. It has to do with the culture and the power men took over from women by the physical power they have. And you said that Islam doesn't treat Women badly like Hinduism does. But in Islam countries, women are being treated like dirt, they kill the women by beating her with the stones. And if you do a little research, you can find out that in middle eroupe, chrisitian girls were being tested for virgin by somekind of stupid practice. You said that according to Islam religion's dowry system, men have to be aborted if dowry system is the reason for abortion in Hinduism. But men can get women in any ages, and they don't rely on their parents after some ages. But, women are not like that. They rely on their parents before marriage and then on their husbands after marriage. And it's too hard to find them a husband if they get over 25 years old.

    abortion

The reason for abortion is Indian Dowry System. Indian Dowry System is that a bride's family has to give a lot of money, a house, car and everything to the groom's family. So, a lot of poor people in India abort the girl child because they don't want to see their girl child born and then not getting married, and being pushed into sadness. Vedhas states that a soul enter the body when womb is 8 weeks or so (i'm not sure about it). But even if the body was destroyed, how can a soul be aborted? A sould can never be destroyed. So, the sould will take another birth and continue it's journey. And you have to understand that there's no one is related to you in this world, they are all soul which should be in spiritual world. So, my question is why do people cry when someone dies? They should realize that they are related to no one in the world. When my grandpa died, I was 10 years or so, I didn't cry, because I knew the soul never dies. If I was able to understand that when I was 10, when I had no knowledge about religion, why doesn't other people understand that?
  19. Hey, look in the forum "Questions about hinduism" Madav has posted an essay about hinduism which will teach you a lot about it.
  20. I don't think that Krishna's existence can be proven. I think that god did that on purpose. According to our (hindus) belief, we are here to enjoy material energy, we forgot that god exists, and Krishna created an illusion which makes us forget god which can help us to enjoy whatever we want to enjoy. That's why God didn't leave any material evidence to prove his existence. He doesn't want to be proven to those who are still bind material desires. But some other religions doesn't let their followers to enjoy whatever they want to enjoy. They forgot that their goal for being here in this world is to enjoy whatever they want to enjoy and fulfill their desires. Only Hinduism let it's followers to do anything they want to do, and it waits until the followers realizes that they've enjoyed everything they want to enjoy, and they are ready to go to godhead. I forgot to add this part in my previous post, sorry.
  21. If all religion lead to one goal, which is to go to godhead, Krishna, and if Jesus Christ and Mohammad are also an incarnation of Krishna, why have different point of view in the goal of life and the meaning of life? Christians don't believe in pastlifes, eventhough some claims that reincarnation was being practiced by early Christians. And they believein eternal hell or heaven, and according to their belief the reason why we are here is because of the mistake Adam made. But we hindus don't believe that, but some of us claim that all religion lead to one god. It doesn't make any sense
  22. Guest have made some bad comments about dravidans. First of all I want to remind you that Krishna is a dravidan. If you don't think that Dravidans are true hindus, why do you worship Krishna anyway? Think about that first, and then talk about it. Kalki is also going to be born in South India, probably going to be a Brahmin. So, please study something and then speak about it or else. This is really making me angry. And second of all, you have to know that a lot of Devotees of Siva (Naajanmaarkal) has done a lot of miracles. And we don't oppose Sanskrit pooja. In fact, only Dravidans know the Sanskrit Mantra well. Who said we don't believe in Hindu puranas? We are hindus. I've been proud of my self for being a hindu just before I read this. Now, I feel like why I would want to be a hindu anyway? Damn! don't make these stupid posts anymore in the future. It'll only drives Dravidans to be converted to other religions. And study something, and be sure before you say anything.
  23. In the article you published here, it says that we are individual souls. If that's true, why widows are not allowed to participate in holly celebrations such as marriage? And why were widows being treated so badly in India? Does it have anything to do with Hinduism? And again how come Hinduism doesn't allow women to do puja in the temples???

    question

There's no big difference between Hindi & Sanskrit. Hindi came from Sanskrit, like English came from Latin. You can say that Hindi is a modern version of Sanskrit!!!
  25. Thank you for your answers... It really helped me to clear my doubts.. Thank you'all. Specially for you madhav. Thanks
