  1. The scriptures say- "Don't store up treasures here on earth, where they can be eaten by moths and get rusty, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where they will never become moth-eaten or rusty and where they will be safe from theives. Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be." - Jesus (Mathew 6.19) Jesus made it clear that living for personal gain will only lead to great anxiety. Materialism and anxiety are two enemies of spiritual growth. We need to realize that the essence of life is not found in the possessions of things and that worry about the future is never helpful. By ourselves we have little power to change the future, so we must trust God to take care of us. And God does promise to provide for our needs, for he loves us and gives his children good gifts. Therefore, those who learn to trust God have no need to worry.
  2. If you want to know why you were placed on this planet, you must begin with God. You were born by his purpose and for his purpose. "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." Ephesians 2:10 God did not need to create you, but he chose to create you for his own enjoyment. You exist for his benefit, his glory, his purpose, and his delight. Romans 12:1-2 Romans 12:9-16 Romans 8:28-29 Luke 10:30-37 Luke 5:17-26 Meditate on these verses and indeed God will reveal himself as well as his purpose for your life.
  3. I've listened to shelter for years now and was searching for any updates about the band when I found this website. (Thanks for the shelter references) I do have a question, I listened to the teachings on the shelter albums, have read some articles and parts of a book about krishna consciousness I think there is alot of good in the krishna movement but It never quite "clicked" for me. On the flip side I did not grow up in a christian home but when I heard some christian teachings- things made sense and "clicked". My question- was there something that persuaded you to follow the krishna movement over the bible based teachings of christianity? (I'm assuming people have a some bible knowledge) I know it is said that you can be a christian and still have krishna consciousness- but I'm not sure if that is possible. Thanks
