maadhav, You miss my point. I agree that if a religion says "go and convert otheres by all means, even by force. if they refuse to convert, then kill them. destroy their temples, and salughter them" then that is wrong. However, this topic deals with Witchcraft. And at least in the West, the pagan religions don't go out of their way to bring people into their fold. And certainly, they don't force anyone to join their faith. Yes, there are books on the subject, but that's as far as it goes. They usually feel that if a person is drawn to their religion, then it's because of their own choice and free will. I don't see this as evil.

There are many roads to God and just because you don't agree or "understand" something doesn't make it evil.

My research has shown that there are a lot of aspects of Hinduism that have a Witchcraft tone to them (in a good way) although Hinduism as a whole is not Witchcraft. I don't believe witchcraft is necessary bad. I will explore this issue a bit more. luigee

I know the difference between witchcraft and hinduism. Some religions do have a mystica/magickla off shoot to them. The Kabalah is the mysical side of the jewish faith. Thanks for the information. I will do more research.

thank you all for all your information. It has definitely given me a lot to think about. I will definitely do my research and think about what exactly I want to do. I probably will go the route of learning Sanskrit as a way to get a visa - learning Sanskrit is something I always wanted to do, so this gives me an extra push to finally do it. However, I've always had a fascination with the Hindu culture and people years before I decided to explore Hinduism as a religion. I guess my quest is a mixture of many things. hello, lately, I've been getting an urge to go and live in India for a while. However, I'm not familiar with how the process works. I'm an american citizen (born and raised in sunny california). How can I go about living in India and If i like, apply for citizenship If I fall in love with the country??? Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. luigee

mahak, I'm just saying that you should not automatically believe everything she says, she's been shown to be wrong in the past, so she's not always right. And her point of view is skewed towards the Christian point of view. I understand what you're saying. And you have valid points. However, if you're going to believe every prediction out there, then are you willing to condemn India and Pakistan for Starting WW3 out of their own stupidity and pride. There are many psychics who say that if nuclear war ever breaks out, it will be between Pakistan and India - all over a piece of land. Yes, man is studpid by nature. But this prediction contradicts the Christian version of the end of times (in which India is never mentioned). mahak, Everything can be prevented. The future is not set in stone. The future is our own making. Therefore, her saying that does not give her much credibility in my eyes. But like you said, we're not here to argue. However, I just felt compelled to bring my 2 cents into this discussion.
