  1. Hare Krishna!

To say the jivas are "eternally fragmented" parts and parcels is even more confusing and contrdictory. That's my point. To say a "part and parcel" of God is "eternally fragmented" in essence means God is eternally fragmented, i.e. eternaly flawed.

Here you are using your own mind and intelligence to understand something which cannot be understood by the material mind & intelligence.

But still in order to discuss this we can take an example - For exampe the heat and light is emanating from the sun so it is sun but at the same time it is not the sun. Similarly the jivas are eternally fragmented but at the same time part of God.

Try to understand and pray to Krishna that he gives us the knowledge to understand Him.

    Teshaam Evaanukampaartham ... Deepena Bhaasvatha.

It's just not consistent with the concept of God as "absolute" and "transcendental". Transcendental means without fragmentation... You can't say God is Absolute but a "part and parcel" of Him is eternally fragmented, not to mention nitya baddha.

If you try to understand clearly the fragmentation is there because of the difference in the Bhava (trancendental emotions) towards Krishna otherwise if the Bhaava to serve Krishna is the same there is no fragmentation and original nature of all the living entities is to render service to Krishna (Jiivera Svarupa Haya Krishnnera Nitya Daasa)

And Adding acintya to it doesn't reconcile the the contradiction. Only abheda makes sense (abheda means different right. I'm trying to remember )

Actually speaking it is only the Achintya tattva that reconciles all the so-called contradictions because however hard we try to understand Krishna and His creation by our material mind and intelligence we cannot understand unless there is a slight trace of mercy from Krishna Himself.

    Hence Brahma Ji says:

    Ahtaapi Te Deva Padaambuja Dvayam

    Prasaada Leshaanugrhita Eva Hi

    Jaanati Tattvam Bhagavaan Mahimno

    Na Chaanya Eko'pi Ciram Vichinvaan.

    Hare Krishna!

  2.

How can you possibly avoid this pitfall. Any quotes or verses of the same would be wonderful. Accordingly [Guru/Sadhu/Sastra].

Krishna gives the definition of A REAL devotee as:

[ Ye Me Bhakta Janah Paartha Ne Me Bhaktas Cha Te Janah

Mad Bhaktaanaam Cha Ye Bhaktah Te Me Bhaktatamah Matah

"Those who worship Me directly are not real devotees; real devotees are those who are devoted to My devotees." - Adi Purana ]

So the real devotee is not the one who says that 'I am not a devotee!' he is actually one who is constantly serving/trying to serve the devotees with love and enthusiasm!

  3.

That being the case, the same can be applied to any of the descriptions given in SB?

It's better that we not speculate on the transcendental topics discussed in Srimad-Bhagavatam but take it As It Is!

Where it is not possible to logically analyse the statements it is better to depend on the revelation from Krishna as we all know that Krishna Himself can be known only be revelation what to speak of His literary incarnation, Srimad-Bhagavatam..

  4.

t is not possible in these dark ages, so I wondered whether outward renunciation was imperative. In those days, it must've been easy, that's why Arjuna was advised accordingly. Even amongst kauravas, we see honorable men, so in those times, people in general must've been good.

Krishna message in Bhagavad-Gita is eternally relevant. It is not that it was valid during Arjuna's time and not now. It depends on the person who is trying to follow Krishna's instructions - how sincere s/he is, which really matters. Otherwise the instructions are eternally valid and transcendental!

[ Sa Evaayam Mayaa Te Adya Yogah Proktah Puraatanah

Bhakto'si Me Sakhaa Cheti Rahasyam Hy Etad Uttamam

"That very ancient science of the relationship with the Supreme is today told by Me to you because you are My devotee as well as My friend; therefore you can understand the transcendental mystery of this science."

    - BG 4.3 - http://www.asitis.com/4/3.html ]

  5. We can see very easily that Srila Prabhupada stressed so much on making temples and making every home temples as well. He stressed on this because general people will be attracted towards grand temples and thus will engage in the activity of Shravanam, Kirtanam.

Of course for the devotees themselves Srila Prabhupada stressed on the aspect of 'Simple living and high thinking'..

    Hare Krishna!

  6. Krishna gives the definition of Sannyasi in Bhagavad-Gita as:

[ Anaashrita Karma Phalam, Kaaryam Karma Karoti Yah

Sa Sannyaasi Sa Yogi Cha, Na Niragnir Na Cha Akriyah

"The Blessed Lord said: One who is unattached to the fruits of his work and who works as he is obligated is in the renounced order of life, and he is the true mystic: not he who lights no fire and performs no work." - BG 6.1 - http://www.asitis.com/6/1.html ]

    Hare Krishna!

  7. Hare Krishna GuestJi,

This verse will help us understand this inconceivable oneness and difference:

[ Jivera Svarupa Haya Krishnera Nitya Dasa

    Krishnera Tatastha Shakti Bhedabheda Prakaash

    Suryaamsha Kirana Yache Agni-Jvaala Chaaya

    Svaabhaavika Krishnera Tina Shakti Haya

"It is the living entity's constitutional position to be an eternal servant of Krishna because he is the marginal energy of Krishna and a manifestation simultaneously one with and different from the Lord, like a molecular particle of sunshine or fire. Krishna has three varieties of energy.

    - CC Madhya 108-109 - http://caitanyacaritamrta.com/madhya/20/108-109/en ]

The example given is that of the rays coming from the sun though they are a part of the sun but at the same time not the sun. Similarly the living entity is a part and parcel of Krishna but not Krishna!

    Hare Krishna!

    Dasanudasa,

    Somesh.

  8. [ Athaapi Te Deva Padaambuja Dvayam

    Prasaada Leshaanugrhita Eva Hi

    Jaanaati Tattvam Bhagavaan Mahimno

    Na Chaanya Eko'pi Ciram Vichinvaan

"My Lord, if one is favored by even a slight trace of the mercy of Your lotus feet, he can understand the greatness of Your personality. But those who speculate to understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead are unable to know You, even though they continue to study the Vedas for many years." - SB 10.14.29 - http://srimadbhagavatam.com/10/14/29/en ]

This is one of the way Krishna gives His merciful understanding to us.

Also Srila Prabhupada used to quote Prabhupada Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur usually saying that "Don't try to see Krishna, do something that Krishna would like to see you!" or something like that...

    Anyone knows the exact quotation?
