  1. Thanks Pankaja, very nice! I would ask this general question of everyone: Is God your pillar? Because if he is then we're in his consciousness constantly, in his bliss, serving him....
  2. And I would ask: Is God your pillar?

  4. Don't give up, reenergize your life by cultivating Krsna Consciousness!
  5. There is none fortunately or unfortunately, so there's no litmus test. Some might suggest that 'everyone is a hindu'! Check out some of the following links though: http://www.hindu.org/ http://writing.lantenengo.com/hindu.php Here's a nice online book that discusses just this issue: http://www.bharatvani.org/books/wiah/

  7. Sure that's some fantastic stuff and I love it. If you consider that perfect and complete then that's all you need, I can't argue with that!
  8. I'd like to discuss this topic. Can folks please give me your ideas of what this concept means to you? What is Krsna Consciousness? How best to live it? Please give me *your* thoughts, I've already read a lot of dear Srila's words on this great concept. Thanks!
  9. Kulapavana what is channelling? What is inspiration? By what technique or experience were the Vedas received? Please read a few pages of the Urantia Papers or other such 'new' revelations to actually judge. Check out the following links for a very small sampling of the treasure that the Urantia Book is: 1) http://www.ubfellowship.org/newbook/ppr048_7.html 2) http://lightson.net/inspiration.htm#AFRAID
  10. Yes I agree, that's what I tend to do as well, I look for the essence indeed. The essence of the Urantia Book in my words: God is the Creator/Father of all that is, he resides in us, participates in our lives, for that reason we are all brothers & sisters and we need to live accordingly. Please visit www.truthbook.com or www.urantia.org for more if you will.
  11. Were written by celestial personalities via a human, the origins are not well known. Some of the stuff does sound like fiction, but I certainly believe in it. The cosmology is actually more detailed and in ways different from that of Hinduism. I've integrated my Hindu background with the stuff in Urantia and enjoy it that way!
  12. Anyone who radiates a pure spirtual energy coming straight from the Godhead, is surely a descendant of the Sun Dynasty!
  13. There are many revelations not just one, read and adopt the one that plays to *your* heart. Check out some of these: http://lightson.net/reference.htm
  14. I picked these up from an email I received, hope you like some of them, essentially the answer to your question is that the 'proof is in the pudding': (The Urantia Papers - Paper-1 Section-6) The more completely man understands himself and appreciates the personality values of his fellows, the more he will crave to know the Original Personality, and the more earnestly such a God-knowing human will strive to become like the Original Personality. You can argue over opinions about God, but experience with him and in him exists above and beyond all human controversy and mere intellectual logic. The God-knowing man describes his spiritual experiences, not to convince unbelievers, but for the edification and mutual satisfaction of believers. (The Urantia Papers - Paper-1 Section-2) The existence of God can never be proved by scientific experiment or by the pure reason of logical deduction. God can be realized only in the realms of human experience; nevertheless, the true concept of the reality of God is reasonable to logic, plausible to philosophy, essential to religion, and indispensable to any hope of personality survival. Those who know God have experienced the fact of his presence; such God- knowing mortals hold in their personal experience the only positive proof of the existence of the living God which one human being can offer to another. The existence of God is utterly beyond all possibility of demonstration except for the contact between the God-consciousness of the human mind and the God-presence of the Thought Adjuster that indwells the mortal intellect and is bestowed upon man as the free gift of the Universal Father. (Sophy Burnham) To believe in God or in a guiding force because someone tells you to is the height of stupidity. We are given senses to receive our information within. With our own eyes we see, and with our own skin we feel. With our intelligence, it is intended that we understand. But each person must puzzle it out for himself or herself. ( Tina Turner) The real power behind whatever success I have now was something I found within myself - something that's in all of us, I think, a little piece of God just waiting to be discovered. (Epictetus (55 AD - 135 AD) When you close your doors, and make darkness within, remember never to say that you are alone, for you are not alone; nay, God is within, and your genius is within. (Brenda Ueland) Think of yourself as an incandescent power, illuminated and perhaps forever talked to by God and his messengers. (Seneca (5 BC - 65 AD) Live among men as if God beheld you; speak to God as if men were listening. ( Joel S. Goldsmith) God must become an activity in our consciousness. ( Lantarnek - 9/26/04 - The North Idaho TeaM) It is Fathers' will to experience your conditions, your qualities, to merge in the experience of life with you, even As you. While the human soul longs to be like God, recognizing the ideals of such a lofty personality, the character, the attributes, accept (that) the Father also seeks your qualities that condition, that specifies and distinguishes your relationship with God from all other relationships with God. In your search for unity, Father reaches out for diversity. Understanding this dynamic between God and the human fosters acceptance of one another, even promotes delight in the manner in which another young soul in time and space undertakes the discovery of the eternal God and in whom this same Father of you, explores this universe, experiences a new soul. All people are valued the same for they are all highly unique. While it is the tendency for time/space creatures to rank order and rank things and people by value, to place one thing higher in worth and another lower is not the way of God. Each person is of the highest value, and all equally. ( Abraham Lincoln (1809 - 1865) It is difficult to make a man miserable while he feels worthy of himself and claims kindred to the great God who made him. ( Lantarnek - 9/26/04 - The North Idaho TeaM) Understanding this brings acceptance of oneself and acceptance of all others and a deep trust in the overcare, concern, and love of our divine parent. Prepare thyself and drink deeply my friends. (Victor Hugo (1802 - 1885) Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace. God is awake. *******************************************
  15. Read all about him here: http://www.truthbook.com/urantiabook/U122.htm http://www.truthbook.com/urantiabook/U196.htm There are 76 very interesting papers about his life, more than you knew existed!
  16. I first read about him in the "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Swami Yogananda, he seems like an intriguing personality. You might ask him to appear to you!
  17. Mini thanks for the pointer to the website with classes, I signed up! Tell us about how easy or hard was to learn to do this? Why don't you go the next level of planets? Ask for help from nearby (Midwayers or Angels) and tell them to take you someplace exciting like that!
  18. Pankaja please explain how the link affects the board, I'll rectify, thanks!
  19. Didn't realize I hadn't logged in!
  20. He he, but won't that be good too? You with what you know, plus all the Mindal benefits of being a Buddhist!! The best of both worlds!
  21. Pankaja you say: First things first whats the mind? Ego is maybe thinking you are the mind? Does that make 'sense' We are 'The Mind'. ----------- So my understanding is that Mind is what our essential being operates in, uses to live essentially. Ego is an artifact of our existence and is distinct from Mind while living in it. In a larger sense you're very right we are 'The Mind' because indeed there is a larger Mind that encompasses our beings. Notice how our conversation is going into the realm of the Mind! This is path of Jnana Yoga, which is good but the path of faith and devotion is easier! I'm sure you won't disagree. I believe that when we stay in Krsna Conciousness as much as possible then things of the Mind and Intellect also make more sense as appropriate. Some more thoughts, sorry for the confusion that I'm helping create!!
  22. Great quotes, thanks Ancient Mariner! Interestingly the Urantia Book distinguishes between Soul, Mind, Personality and Spirit (Thought Adjuster). We are given a TA (Thought Adjuster) at the age of around 5. That is the God entity that we merge with, while maintaining our identity.
  23. You are talking about Ego now I think. Some may clump Mind and Ego together, and they probably are, but in my understanding and experience they are two different things. The Ego is a facade we use to function in earthly life, the Mind is the container for it. We identify with the Ego as being our true self, which it isn't. Some thoughts....
  24. I disagree that the mind is impure, our thoughts and tendencies may seem to make it'impure', by itself it isn't impure. IMO Mind doesn't entrap, it's a tool to take us to the next step, a tool to reach the Godhead.
