Preaching should not be the goal. Practicing Bhakti is.

yes, both should be there, can't have one without the other!

Also, in my experience ppls always say Krishna is Hindu God, which is such a great misconception, Iskcon has done a great deal to spread bhakti, I am Hindu myself:), I guess what I am trying to say is, ppls should know you don't have to be Hindu to worship krishna, you just need a soul (which everybody has!!!!) Haribol

  2. Hare Krishna

You say about the Vedas and Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, they are no meat-eaters in Vaishnava society and there can never be, a pure devotee may make concessions now and again, but that is Not for us, Lord Jesus Christ may have ate flesh, but Srila Prabhupada famously said 'He can eat the entire world!'

  3. You say the Bible was written specifically for kali-yuga, so for arguments sake lets say this is true, then would you agree that the Bible would really like you to give up meat, and Not unneccessary kill poor animals. If this is the case, then you should at least consider giving-up eating flesh and understand some of the purports to this Holy Book.

    Thankyou..

  4. Hare Krishna all /images/graemlins/smile.gif

while watching something on TV I came across a Temple programme of sorts with some kids dancing on stage to a song from the Hindi film called 'can't remember'-:) with Amir Khan (about Cricket) you know the 1 right?

Anyways the song was about the rasa dance, and I was thinking is this song written by any saint?

If not then why are they singing it?

Is it ok to do so?

Could they not find a other bona-fide song?

    Is the potency reduced?

    Haribol!

'For spiritual progress in this Age of Kali, there is no alternative, there is no alternative, there is no alternative to the holy name, the holy name, the holy name of the Lord.'

Specifically mentioned in Vedas is Maha_mantra, but you can chant any names you want. Muslims can chant Allah, we can also what ever attracts you, BUT, remember goal of Life, is love of God.

  6. Hare Krishna

God doesn't need your permission, to tell you He exsists does He?

The exsistance of God is not the issue, its the change of consiousness, we believe we are these bodies, who belong to materialism, until we change we cannot understand Krishna.

How?...simply chant...Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare/Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

It is recommended that even if one commits offenses, one should continue chanting the holy name. In other words, the chanting of the holy name makes one offenseless. In the book Nama-kaumudi it is recommended that if one is an offender at the lotus feet of a Vaisnava, he should submit to that Vaisnava and be excused; similarly, if one is an offender in chanting the holy name, he should submit to the holy name and thus be freed from his offenses...

One should be very humble and meek to offer one's desires and chant prayers composed in glorification of the holy name, such as ayi mukta-kulair upasyamanam and nivrtta-tarsair upagiyamanad [sB 10.1.4]. One should chant such prayers to become free from offenses at the lotus feet of the holy name.

  8. We know that there are 86000 species

    ----

There are according to Srimad Bhagavatam 8,400,000 species of life, humans being a species as well.

    *

which a soul has to transmigrate before reaching god and of them Human Soul being karma yoni is considerd best,

    ----

i hope so, my cat dosn't know how to type (i don't have a cat, but just for this joke, i'll oh say i do.)

    *

so whats wrong in killing animals and eating them because in a way we are reducing their life span on materialistic earth and helping them transmigrate fast, which otherwise too they have to do

    ----

we can't play God, karma will take care of it, who the heck are you or i to interfere?

    *

and why onion and garlic despite being vegetarian food is prohibited

    ----

spiritual life is conductive, by avoiding these foods, main reason prabhu is cause Lord Krishna not like them.-:)

    *

Also if soul is truth and body is of less importance why should we help fellow beings, in a way we are helping them survive for materialistic things or for their body not soul

    ----

taking care of body for krishna is good, its took a long time to get human body, good chance now, so chant hare-krishna!

    *

I admit that I am not thorough with the teachings of Gita and Hare Krishna but reading a little abt these thgs I had the above mentioned queries

    ----

all glories to you prabhuji!, your questions are nice, my answers not so much, still it took me 7 mins to type this out, so appreciate it!

    *

also I am a vegetarian and have no plans of adopting non vegetarian food.

    ----

Thats great, also avoid eggs as well and fish, read Prabhupada Gita/Hare-Krishna Mantra, Bless me, urm..and NEVER GIVE UP CHANTING HARE-KRISHNA!
