I read a report on the North Korea guy a couple of weeks ago. He is a nut of the worse kind. He has thousands of people in huge prison camps - if one family member says something he does not like - the whole family ends up in a horrid work camp. Some of the prisoners are forced to produce items that are filtered through China into the world market. The people are tortured and if they make it out alive they are lucky.

On top of that this nut has the largest and most valuable Duffy Duck (I think that's the one) cartoon collection in the world!!

And that is the guy who has his finger on the button of the bomb that can reach the United States!!

about this other movie I saw years ago. Can't remember the name but it was set in the future after WWIII and humankind was very degraded. Everyone was ragged and dirty, cruel etc etc. People were living in rusted old cars because the buildings had been destroyed. I just keep thinking about that movie all day today.

What of the devotee that is in the passive state who is not inclined to perform devotional service? Is it as Theist asks - a state only of the liberated souls?

Srila Prabhupada tells us in Science of Self-Realization; chapter eight:

"The cows in Krsna's abode are also liberated souls. They are called surabhi cows. There are many popular pictures showing how Krsna loves the cows, how He embraces and kisses them. That passive relationship with Krsna is called santa. Their perfect happiness is achieved when Krsna comes and simply touches them."

I understand from this that the devotee in the passive state is very happy and content with the knowledge that Lord Krsna is there to love and protect them in this material world and also the Spiritual Sky. Just the fact that Lord Krsna is there is their happiness. They do not feel the inclination to actually perform service to the Lord such as cooking etc.

that we have on the treatment of dairy cows and the things that are done to the milk afterwards....perhaps milk intolerance isn't so bad afterall.

I have milk intolerance and have no problem at all with yoghurt. Basically, yoghurt is already digested so there is no problem with it just sitting in the body fermenting like milk does with those who have the intolerance.

Little side story about milk intolerance:

About 20 years ago I started having horrid stomach pains and went to the doctor who told me that he did not even have to test me to know that I had an ulcer and to drink lots and lots of milk. I was already drinking a lot of milk at that time and upped it because of this doctor's orders.

Well, things went from bad to worse and the doctor did not help.

A friend of mine had married a doctor from India and they came to visit me. I told him the situation and he told me to immediately stop the milk.

The rest is history and this verifies the fact that "Doctors PRACTICEmedicine!"

My friend wrote back and told me that mainly westerners and rich Indians go to the McDonald's; that it is not frequented by most people there.

Sad, travel all the way to the Holy Lands and then total your karma by eating flesh!

People need to be educated about these matters. Explain to people the reasons to be vegetarian. People hate to hear the details of animal slaughter yet they will chow down greedily on that flesh every chance they get. But if gory details is what it takes then that is how to do it.

One of my past co-workers used to hate it when I called her yearly hunting expeditions - her annual murder sprees! Never get through to some people!

I heard the other day that the McDonald's corporation reported a first time loss in profits and were shutting down a great number (forgot how many) of their stores! /images/graemlins/smirk.gifheh heh heh /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I am surprised that this was allowed at all! It is a sad state of affairs that this store is patronized by anyone there.

I just emailed a friend who was there a couple of weeks ago. I don't always hear from him everyday but hopefully I will hear from him tonight and will have the answer to this.

That is a horrid offense! That is perpetuating murder of Mother Cow in the Holy Land - what to speak of the people who would actually go there.

I find it hard to believe that this is true. I am inclined to believe that it was a dream. Let's pray that is the case.
