That person who has not at any time received the dust of the feet of the Bhagavathottama on his head is akin to a dead body. That person who has never experienced the sweet smell of tulasi leaves from the feet of Sri Vishnu, is also akin to a dead body.

Regarding eulogy of Krishna in the Upanishaths, Devakiputra Krishna is mentioned and eulogised as a great teacher, in the Chandogya Upanishat. I find that teaching interesting, since it is closely similar to the Karmayoga in the Gita, as also referred to in the Uddhava Samvadam in Bhagavatha.

Since Gayatri is the name of the meter, there can be an infinitely many number of Gayatri mantras.

The most popular, most ancient Gayatri mantra that finds mention in all the Vedas, is popularly called Savitri Mantra, since it is chanted to propitiate the God Savita.

you are right..! Noone would call oneself 'his divine

grace' ..!

I was talking about the good providence that helps one out

of difficulties..

Look at the stories of Gajendra (formerly King Indradyumna),

Prahlada, Dhruva in the Bhagavatha....Draupadi in Bharatha..

When they have given up all hope, Krishna came and rescued them from danger!

To merit that divine grace, the divine providence...Gita and Bhagavatha says..one needs to purify one's mind through sad chinta, sat sangha.

Sad chinta can be attained simply by chanting the Hare Rama Hare Krishna maha mantra..as per the Kali santharanopanishath..

Brahma Purana, Linga Purana and Brahmanda Purana

Eventhough their intentions are to be most lauded, in my view the translations have almost completely robbed the originals of their beauty and charm. Of course, one can definitely not keep to the merit of the Sanskrit compositions while going for a translation to English, but what I find bad is the lack of religious feeling in the translation, which one finds so well in the originals. This is just my personal opinion...

I think the following routine would help you steady

your mind.

1) Do achamana and make your mind an body pure(bathing or if that's not possible, washing your hands, feet and face)

2) Do japa of the holy Gayatri mantra 108 times with intense feeling for the wellbeing of the whole world and a seeking for divine knowledge.

Gita says that all one needs to merit divine grace is a pure mind and an intense longing for God.

That has led Vyasa to say, 'Wise men are found even outside the pale of our creed'.

Scriptures and sages say it is to realise the oneness of the universe. There is only one Brahman otherwise known as

Vishnu Shiva Krishna etc. Multiplicity does not exist in reality. One attains this by making one's mind pure and through the grace of God.

This is a very short, concise attempt at describing the answer to the eternal question.

Yuktiyuktamupadeyam

vachanam balakadapi

anyatttrunamiva thyajyam

apyuktam padmajanmana (Yoga Vasishta)

-- Imbibe the truths even from children, if they are well reasoned and substantiated; As for the those that aren't, throw them away as you do blades of grass, even though

they were stated by Lord Brahma himself.

Tasmai namo bhagavathe

ya idam swena rochisha

Athmastham vyanjayamasa

sa dharmam pathumarhathi (Bhagavatha 3.12.32)

Our prayers to him, who, through his inherent knowledge

manifests the whole universe, and who himself protects

dharma.

Read some of the poetical Upanishads, like the Mundaka or Katha or Isavasya.

Also read the Bhagavad Gita or Ashtavakra Gita.

You can read the Panchadasi, if you are interested in Vedanta.
