Srila Prabhupada said they are praying for bread. Bread is bread. Bread is not yogamaya or whatever else you are imagining it to be. If Jesus was not talking about bread, then he was probably smart enough to use some other more appropriate word. If you knew the teachings of Srila Prabhupada you would know that he pointed out that praying for bread is a poor relationship with God. Srila Prabhupada said that God as father is not a servitude relationship. God as father is God is our servant. Read the books of Srila Prabhupada and maybe you'll get the picture someday. Fatherhood of God makes him our servant. Service begins in serving bread to God not in asking him to provide for our bread.

Well, Jesus taught that we should ask God for our daily bread. The Vaishnavas want to supply God his daily bread. So, as Srila Prabhupada pointed out that taking God as father is for asking for bread, luxury cars, fancy homes etc. etc. So, it's more personal when you supply God his daily bread than simply praying to God to give us some bread. Who is more personal with God? The one begging for bread or the one cooking bread for God? go figure.....

just to give you a little history. back in the very early years of ISKCON some disciples of Srila Prabhupada were in India and they came in contact with some of the Godbrothers of Srila Prabhupada and they commenced belittling Srila Prabhupada and launching insults and accusations against him. this of course got back to Srila Prabhupada and hearing that he started a campaign to keep his disciples away from his Godbrothers. In time some came out to support Srila Prabhupada while others just maintained an offensive attitude. so, that situation started a reaction that is still going on down to the present day. If the Godbrothers of Srila Prabhupada would have respected his efforts, supported his preaching and encouraged his disciples then the Saraswata family would not be in the mess it is in today. so, the whole blame can't dumped on ISKCON or ISKCON devotees. If these Gaudiya Matha leaders hadn't started some shit with Srila Prabhuapda then this mess would never have happened. but, it was probably all for the better because some of these Gaudiya Matha people were not fit association for the disciples of Srila Prabhupada anyway. they lived in small worlds in their Maths and didn't care much about spreading Krishna consciousness all over the world as their spiritual master wanted to do. It's indeed sad that it had to come to this, but really these men at the Gaudiya Matha started all this shit and now look where it ended up.

I am not sure that I have the perfect answer for that. I think that it all should be left up to the spiritual master. We don't have to dog him for some definitive answer. If he leaves without appointing a successer then that is deliberate and for good reason. The spiritual master will make his statements when the time is right. If he doens't make any final statement about successor then the disciples just have to look within their hearts for the answer. I personally disagree with when the GBC went to Srila Prabhupada and dogged him about what was going to happen after he was gone. Srila Prabhupada should have been allowed to make his own statement in his own time. I think that the GBC should have just waited to see what Srila Prabhupada decided to do without them getting all agitated about who was going to be guru and then trying to squeeze something out of Srila Prabhupada. They did attempt to manipulate and squeeze Srila Prabhupada. The result is that ISKCON suffered a massive setback that is still going on. The opposition to the GBC is growing day by day because they are not doing things properly. No, just let the acharya move in his own way. Don't squeeze or manipulate him for an answer to that question.

if people aren't interested in hearing about Krishna, then we have no interest to try and prove anything to them. proof comes in hearing. if they don't hear, they will never understand.

Even science will tell you that the tissue cells are not germ cells. They are classified as somatic cells and they do not geminate. The authentic version of Srila Prabhupada before it got tampered with by the half-baked scientists of ISKCON was that the smallest form of life was a germ. Human tissue is not made of germs. This purport would have been a good time for Srila Prabhupada to say that every cell of the body had a soul. He didn't. In fact, nowhere in any of his books has he ever said that every cell of the body had a soul. That crackpot theory didn't come up till the so-called scientists of ISKCON postulated their theory. Again, human tissue cells are NOT germs.

Bhagavad-gītā As It Is 2.18 purport, that is singular.... soul..... not souls....

What the half-baked scientists of ISKCON didn't tell Srila Prabhupada was that human tissue was cultured in a lab by injecting fetal calf serum. Human tissue doesn't just grow in a petri dish by itself. It grows when the mad scientists inject the cells with fetal calf serum. So, obviously it takes a lot of tampering and corruption of the human tissue cells to get them to grow in a petri dish. Considering all the demonic intervention required to get human cells to grow in a petri dish, I think the proposal that they are being grown by injecting them with living souls is laughable and quite pathetic. Frankensteins in the labs tampering with nature is no proof that there is a soul in every cell of the human body.

Well, if I really think about it, I have to say that the whole question of which faith is more personal is just a formula for argument. If one thinks Christian is more personal than Vaishnava, then that should be the person's personal preference, but asking for people to take sides or make a choice just seems to be an attempt to insult one or the other. In this case I think the author is trying to say that Christian is more personal than Vaishnava which is my my view just picking a fight or trying to create dissention. so, if someone comes back and says Christian is just a sentimental religion without any philosophy then they should be willing to deal with the response.

so, if you worship God as father in this material universe then Lord Siva is your God.

As far as God is concerned he likes being father least of all. That is why he makes Lord Siva the father of the living entities in this universe. Krishna is the lover. He is not the father. The father is for asking things from (gimme this, gimme that) God prefers to be loved for his beauty and sweetness, not for what he can offer his children in need. I think that Vaishnava is much more personal. One's children grow up and go away, but the lover she stays around forever.

nobody will ever convince me that a human tissue cell is a species of life no matter how many quotes they can produce in letters to disciples that were struggling with their attachment to "science". If anybody can show proof that a human tissue cell is considered a species of life according to Vedic knowledge then I would be glad to see it.
