1. Guest : "Vaishnavas outside Iskcon do fast for Janmastami, especially Gaudiya Vaishnavas"

    -------------------------

Sri Vaishnavas such as my family (from Southern India) and that are not acquainted with Gaudiya or Iskcon Vaishnavism do not fast at Krishnastami.

But, they celebrate it wildly and make all the favorite Items that krishna likes.

They think that Krishna comes to their house on that day so they keep their doors open. They make little krishna foot prints with rice flour or something (not really sure) to indicate krishna's foot prints.

It is true that they don't have breakfast like normal days... and only eat after offering stuff to lord krishna,

but they don't fast all day...

I am not trying to say fasting is bad or anything, but it is just your preference...

I don't think krishna /images/graemlins/mad.gif will get mad if does not fast , but I think Krishna /images/graemlins/smile.gif will be happy if one fasts..

It is all done to make the devotees happy. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

  3. "We are created because we are dear to him. We were given a chance to go back to Him in due time. If He has nothing to do with our physical body, what kind of God He is? He is the Most Merciful, MOST Caring, MOST Loving, MOST Understanding, MOST High"

Yes he is the most merciful, Most caring and most loving etc. Thats why he wants you to not care about your body and care about yourself.

You see, in KC philosophy krishna only created this material world/ bodies because we wanted to come here and enjoy ourselves in living the lives of various species...

It is like changing channels on your T.V. When you were a kid, you wanted to watch T.V. your parents got you one.

In the same way, you wanted to enjoy your life like He does so you left him and came here.

In the painter analogy , Krishna only painted it for you because he wants you to be happy. So, he only cares about you, not the painting that you wanted to have.

But the life in this material world is full of suffering... because every one wants to be krishna... every one wants to be a hero, but we can't be krishna... Krishna is God, we are not.

So, we can't truly enjoy in this material world, what we can do is suffer from various types of diseases , from bodily attachments, from day to day problems, from responsibilities etc.

So, to stop our suffering we go back to the Godhead. How? basically show love to him and be at his mercy... then he will himself come and protect you "The soul" from this mire of material existence and take you to his spiritual world , which is an abode of bliss.

  4. Most of the Indian Newspapers are subject to yellow journalism, which includes the Sify news network.

I had a long talk with one of Eenadu's editors when I went to India.

He said that people in all of the papers including "Eenadu" almost write what they first think is valid ... they don't care if it is proven to be invalid later, they just won't change their story.

The result of this would be Yellow Journalism.

The "leads" are almost always wrong and it is worse when it comes to news about foreign affairs.

So, dude, I don't think we can depend on SIfy or any other Indian news paper to give 100% accurate information.

  5. And even though you celebrate that you have found these two things contradictory thus proving me to be an idiot... in reality I don't think both of those posts which you have posted above are contradictory at all.

I never said "Rani Mukherjee and Madhuri Dixit in their skimpy mini-skirts" show "devotion to Krishna!"

But I did say that the Indian film industry makes "love" into something that we could celebrate.

One good example is the movie "Hum aapke hai koun".

They mistakenly make it so that the lust of this world= real love... but that does not mean they don't celebrate love.

I was just appreciating them for being addicted to loving people...but I don't agree with the hero guy fighting and kicking all the other people's asses for a girl.

If you wish to indulge yourself in lustful acts and think that is love , then you are wrong.

Anyway, could you answer me if you are the guest who posted against Hare krishna people and their "ways of doing things" in the other post? - i am just curious, you don't have to answer it if you don't want to. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

  6. /images/graemlins/frown.gif it feels like an eternity for this day to pass...

     tomorrow's Krishna's B day.

BUT I WANT TO CELEBRATE IT TODAY!

Well anyway, Happy Krishna Janmasthami to you! /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif

And devotees in Japan and India. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sex is just a biological process and is completely natural, no one said it is not natural.

But in our philosophy, we would like to get out of this world and stay unattached to this world. One way to stay unattached to this world is from not having sex.

/images/graemlins/grin.gif I completely agree with you " YOU WANT TO HAVE SEX 5 TIMES A DAY - GO FOR IT. YOU WANT TO HAVE SEX ONCE A MONTH "

But you want ever lasting happiness which is of a higher nature : then free yourself from the act alltogether.

  8. "this is my 2cents to all the hindus,if you can find the answer for this let me know (im a Hindu as well) I spent most of the years studying religion hindu, islam and Christianity and a little bit of buddaism, raelism, and other idolatry religion as well"

"Do god appear as what they appear in the photos that been framed up?

Do god look just like the stones that u faced down and pray?

There is a fact that god is one in Hindu which of is the one if I take it to B'gitai it will relate to Krishna, if I go to M'barata it will relate to Sivam...

Do Hindu have provide you what to eat? what to wear? what to talk ? what is good ? what is bad? B'gittai nor M'barata does not provide an answer how a man should live and reach the god ion details as Quran.."

This is very funny my friend. Before you say Mahabharatha and bhagavath Gita do not tell you how to live peacefully, first read.

The rest of this whole post is completely idiotic.

  9. Thats horrible, why does our nation spend so much on weapons and battle equipment.

I went to the UN building like a week ago... over there they had a chart about how much all the countries in the world spend on weapons. its about 780 billion dollars.

If they didn't spend so much on weapons, 33% of all that money could be used to cure all the world's problems from abolishing poverty, illiteracy- to curing degenerative diseases.
