Who's Flute?? I keep getting asked that question.

ME? Im flute..

 

Well its a long story.. "ya got a chair and some cookies

and chocolate?"..

There is a group of Science Fiction/Fantasy novels

written by David Eddings.. One of the series is Elenium. A

few years ago.. Like in 1991, I was fascinated by the books.

About the same time I bought a computer with a modem and

found

Prodigy.

There were groups of people forming clubs for playing/fun

Each club was set up for favorite authors,in the Arts and

Writing BB and I was one of the first 5 people to join the

DEC.. or David Eddings Club.

The first book of "The Elenium" had just come out. The

"Club" all decided to pick a name of our favorite character

in the books and talk in character.

I picked Talen. Talen was a mischievous little boy that

was always into things, was above average intelligence and a

spontaneous comedian. and the really fun thing is I had them

all convinced that I was a rascal child. (Used my grandson's

latest antics, couldn't spell and used no caps in sentences

<thats hard to do when one of your jobs in realtime once was

Admin Secretary> The next book came out and Talen was

growing up. I loved being the child, Talen, however I

decided that I needed to be the female person that I am.. So

I took the name of another child, Flute.

Flute was growin up in the next series of books and was

talking, Soooo seeings how being quiet wasn't a problem

anymore

<giggling> And Flute giggles like me. I became Flute.

Flute originally was a child that was found at the edge

of a terrible holocaust in a small village. She hid in a

tree and survived but wouldn't talk, however the animals

loved her. In the second book, the traumatized child managed

to talk to the whales and whisper melodies into the wind.

She was telepathic and could transfer her thoughts to others

when it was necessary.. Anyway.

In time I started a "A quest" Which is a group written

story. We each played our character (written Role Playing)

and wrote fascinating stories. I found I had a talent for

writing and breathing life into a game.. Prodigy Myth and

SciFiction Boards recognized that talent and named me(over a

period of time),

Special Contributor, Member Representative, Chat Host and

Event Coordinator. Part of my job was to interview Authors

of Fantasy/Sci Fi Books. Piers Anthony is a kick and David

Eddings don't do Computers or typewriters but they all were

exciting to work with. Authors were regular type people and

just maybe I could also write a book in Fantasy.

I am of the Clan: a Magruder (i.e.McGreghior also

MacGregor) of the most ancient clan in Scotland. There was

some wonderful family

history; and I thought, I'd write a book and change the

ending of an old tale"The Clearings of the Highlands" to my

tale "Fintanna". Which incidently is 30,000 words and

unfinished.

(you have to count your words and 120,000 is a book size)

I began my research and found myself in a vast world of

spirituality on the New Age topic in the Religion Concourse

Bulletin Board. I entered a world that I knew existed for

many years but thought it was forbidden to talk about. I

didn't know there were others like me out there. Before I

hid from

everyone.

I found a wonderful group of people that felt the same

things I did and understood my unusual stories and didn't

judge me or think I was crazy. I laughed and I cried and I

typed like crazy. It was a wonderful homecoming for

me..For the first time in my life, I actually belonged to a

group of people that I could share my thoughts with.

They all called me Flute and I didn't seem to be able to not

type "flute" as a signature....it caught on, no matter where

I

went on Prodigy everyone knew me as Flute.. and so... I

remained Flute. (Even on the politics board

:>

Tom Livingston of Intermedia Inc was running the bulletin

boards on Prodigy for Astrology/New Age and hired me,

"Flute" as

one of his Member Representatives. I was the only person on

Prodigy to be Member Representative in two areas. My new job

was leading

the weekly "Flute's Healing Circle" and contacting "GUEST"

for the on line chat circles. Some of my favorite people

that I contacted and worked with were.. William Rand, D. J.

Conway, Jacque Bigar, Edgar Cayce's Grandson and the

Virginia Beach Crew that were doing Research on Cayce's

14,000 pieces of information. Jacque Bigar was a regular and

taught classes in astrology on line.

I was totally amazed at life again and ventured into the

off-

line world, first as part of a Demo Team at Trade shows then

leading Healing Circles and Becoming a Reiki Master Teacher

in 95, finding my passion.

and so I became a part of the earth changes. Doors have been

opening ever since. I quit corporate (Systems Administrator

for Data Alliance) in June of 97 and haven't had any

regrets.

I suddenly found I could write poetry and they tell me I say

amazing things and I blush and say.. "ME" are you sure? and

I am as surprised as they are when I reread my poems. So I

tell everyone.. I said "God, make me an instrument" and he

said *bamph* your a flute and I said

"but, but" and Everyone started saying."hi flute' even when

they met me off line.
