Can we offer whole rice, whole food , or we must only offer

white rice to the deity during puja ?

 

Swamiji's response :

 

Whole uncooked food is acceptable. But you will want to cook it

before you eat it, so you would offer it again at that time.

 

 

Followup from Latha :

 

What Kalachandra means according to Gauri - is brown rice. Can we

offer brown rice instead of white rice during puja , especially when

we offer akshata?

 

Swamiji's response :

 

The actual meaning of akshata is "whole grains". So brown rice will

be fine
