Praying for Someone -- Mention in the Sankalpa

The sankalpa taken before chanting any text includes the purpose for

which the recitation is undertaken.

 

So if you wish to take a sankalpa for the benefit of Mr.X then say

 

"Om Adya Jambudvipe.....Shri (Your name) krtaitat for the benefit of

Mr.X 's welfare, Sri Durga/Shiva/the Deity you are praying to

Kamah, puja karmaham Karishye "

if i was to do the shiva puja in elana's name would it be like this,

before the shiva puja itself:

 

Om Adya Jambudvipe Shri Steve krtaitat Elana, Sri Shiva Kamah, puja

karmaham Karishye.
