Guest guest Report post Posted April 17, 2006 narayana and visnu are the Personality of Godhead, this is known, avataras mean to ascend, and Krsna and Rama etc descends to this world (an other world), therefor Krsna are a avatara, no? arent not only the bramha-Gaudiya-vaisnava sampradaya that see Krsna as NOT an avatara? the other sampradaya see Krsna as an avatara, arent it not the HK that see Krsna as God in His pureist form? Guest guest Report post Posted April 18, 2006 http://vedabase.net/sb/1/3/23/en As to what other sampradaya think, I have no idea, I don't really see the relevance to us and our devotional service... so Krsna is an avatara then.. because He whent down with Balarama to earth.. avatara means "to ascend".. Krsna ascends so He is avatara.. no offence.. but Govinda is still God
