can someone please confirm the spelling and weather the translation is correct or not please

 

From Anger comes Delusion,

From Delusion loss of Memory,

From loss of Memory the destruction of Discrimination,

From the destruction of Discrimination, one Perishes

 

krodhad bhavati sammohah sammohat smrti-vibhramah

smtri-brhamsat buddhi naso buddhi nasat pranasyati

Look this verse up in the Bhagavad Gita. The spelling is wrong but I don't have time to type it out. I think you should look in your copy of Bhagavad Gita.

 

Besides, what is right and wrong depends on what you are using it for. We aren't able to show diacritic marks here, so I don't know to what extent you want it clarified. I hope you aren't getting tattoos like everyone else in this forum. :D

Hi sand1p,

As you know English is not a phonetic language; we use Roman scripts for English and the same symbol can be pronounced differently. But Sanskrit (for which the script is Devanagiri) is phonetic.

 

Therefore, if we write any Sanskrit verse using Roman alphabets, then it will be difficult to understand the correct pronunciation. So, it is important that you decide on phonetic symbols that you are familiar with. For example, are you familiar with iTrans? Or, any other transliteration scheme?
