Pankaja_Dasa 1 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 Hare Krishna One question, do these verses mean that we shouldn’t think so much, and just accept? Is this what's called Surrender unto Guru. Or do we still 'think' and contemplate. Or does it mean yes I accept everythign Guru says, and I'll reseach more into the Subject [in the Foliobase!] ? It is said in the Svetasvatara Upanisad (6.23): yasya deve para bhaktir yatha deve tatha gurau tasyaite kathita hy arthah prakasante mahatmanah All the confidential purports of the Vedas are fully revealed to that great soul who has the same para-bhakti for his Gurudeva as he has for Sri Bhagavan. In relation to sanga, Hari-bhaktisudhodyaya (8.51) says: yasya yat-sangatih pumso manivat syat sa tad-gunah sva-kularddhye tato dhiman sva-yuthany eva samsrayet Just as a jewel reflects the colors of objects around it, similarly, a persons nature becomes like that of those with whom
