That is Krsna Consciousness for the faith-less person.

How can a faith-less person think of Sri Krsna as the Topmost person when knowledge of His supremacy is non-existant. Hw can a faith-less person speak about Krsna if he thinks Him to be a mere myth. How can a faith-less person perform devotional service unto Sri Krsna when He is seem as lifless and impersonal.

In CC Adi 8.32, it is said:

"It should be noted in this connection that the holy names of Lord Krsna and Gaurasundara are both identical with the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Therefore one should not consider one name to be more potent than the other. Considering the position of the people of this age, however, the chanting of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's name is more essential than the chanting of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra because Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is the most magnanimous incarnation and His mercy is very easily achieved. Therefore one must first take shelter of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu by chanting sri-krsna-caitanya prabhu-nityananda sri-advaita gadadhara srivasadi-gaura-bhakta-vrnda. By serving Gaura-Nityananda one is freed from the entanglements of material existence and thus becomes qualified to worship the Radha-Krsna Deity."

I therefore beg to ask whether this means that chanting Hare Krsna Maha Mantra is not for neophytes who have little or no faith, whereareas chanting Sri Nityananda and Sri Gauranga's holy names will benefit one who is faithless so by their mercy, one can become qualified to chant the mahamantra, and thus develop faith?

THE PANCHA TATTVA MANTRA

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is always accompanied by His plenary expansion Sri Nityananda Prabhu, His incarnation Sri Advaita Prabhu, His internal potency Sri Gadadhara Prabhu, and His marginal potency Srivasa Prabhu.

He is in the midst of them as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. One should know that Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is always accompanied by these other tattvas. Therefore our obeisances to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu are complete when we say:

(jaya) shri-krishna-chaitanya prabhu nityananda

shri-advaita gadadhara shrivasadi-gaura-bhakta-vrnda.

As preachers of the Krsna consciousness movement, we first offer our obeisances to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu by chanting this Panca-tattva mantra; then we say Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.

There are ten offenses in the chanting of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, but these are not considered in the chanting of the Panca-tattva mantra, namely sri-krsna-caitanya prabhu nityananda sri-advaita gadadhara srivasadi-gaura-bhakta-vrnda. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is known as maha-vadanyavatara, the most magnanimous incarnation, for He does not consider the offenses of the fallen souls.

Thus to derive the full benefit of the chanting of the maha-mantra (Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare), we must first take shelter of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, learn the Panca-tattva mantra, and then chant the Hare Krsna maha-mantra. That will be very effective.

Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur has sung in one of his kirtans (Kalyana-kalpa-taru) as follows:

mukhe bolo prem prem bastuta tyajiya hem

shunya granthi anchale bandhan

"We are repeatedly speaking and preaching about Divine Love to others, but actually we are far from it. We have lost this diamond by our present activity. Now we have nothing, an absolutely empty pot in the name of full divine pot."

At another place in same kirtan, Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur wrote as follows:

akaitaba krishna prem jena suvimala hem

ei phal nriloke durlabh

kaitabe vanchana matra hou age jogya patra

tabe prem haibe sulabh

"Divine Love is like a rare piece of bright gold or diamond. When we are absolutely free from hypocritical activities and surrender absolutely to His service, then we will be qualified to get this Divine Love. Actually the diamond of Krishna Prema is very rare on this planet. Rather than taking shelter of hypocrisy to deceive others, we should try to become worthy to receive Divine Love, for though Prema is very rare, it comes very easily to those who have attained eligibility by ridding their hearts of hypocrisy and the desire to deceive others."

Read the Purport again, what is Prabhupada trying to make you see. Look for the word 'Therefore'

There is no difference between the two, but Sri Sri Guru-Gauranga are more merciful. The panca tattva mantra is sung before the Hare Krsna Maha Mantra 3 times, is it not? Then, what shall i sing about Gauranga and Nityananda Prabhus?

I posted 100 names of Lord Gaurange that should be ok. Krishna Section, I call it the 'no go zone' cause hardly anybody posts.

I don't know about 3 times, unless you do 3 times then all the rounds, or 1 time and 1 round etc

Like if you did 64 rounds a day and has to say 64 times Pancha-tattva mantra and 64 times Guru Mantra, then I think you would do 12 Pancha-tattva mantras. /images/graemlins/confused.gif

Though He Himself is the Absolute Truth, He is maddened with pure love for Lord Hari. He smiles as He rolls His eyes in apparent intoxication, He carries a stick in His hand [in the mood of a cowherd boy], and He breaks the power of the Age of Kali.

Because He is always maddened with pure love for Kåñëa, the foolish nondevotees cannot understand that He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself.

He is the blazing sun who extinguishes the darkness of the community of demons.
