Guest guest
Is it okay to make ghee via microwave? In a hurry the other day I nuked, in a glass bowl, a stick of butter & noticed it seperated the clear stuff from cloudy, so I strained it thru a cloth into a jar. What do ya think? Can this work? I made some more & nuked it longer & did some re-straining to get the fats out. Of course the long way is so nice if one has the talent & time but I don't. This looks more like ghee than my long way attempts. Plus it is kinda sterilizing.
Guest guest
This was a legit question in my mind. I am sorry if I offended anyone. I was not raised in a temple & I dislike spending time in a kitchen so that is why I asked. I am a lousy cook.
vanamali
Wow, don't worry about it! I just don't know the answer to your question! /images/graemlins/tongue.gif I always heat up ghee (to liquify for burning in the lamps) in the micro. but I've never actually tried to "make" ghee by heating in the microwave. I mean, don't worry, it's not offensive or something!!! /images/graemlins/tongue.gif But I don't know if and how that would work, that's all! Good luck! /images/graemlins/smile.gif
vanamali
You can always buy ghee from any Indian grocery. One jar will last a long time /images/graemlins/smile.gif
