Purpose of the Maha Mantra ?

What is the power and purpose of reciting the Maha Mantra and by reciting this can one receive healing, spiritual upliftment, forgiveness of past wrongs .... etc. How much each day should the Maha Mantra be recited and do you need to perform any ritual actions before reciting or can you simply recite this wherever you are and whatever you are doing so that your reciting is effective for yourself. What is the method of reciting, do you do this loudly or quitely within and do you have to do this on japa beads ( mala ) ?

Lord Citanya " there is no hard and fast rules for chanting the Holy Names of the Lord" the quality of your chantig will give you as much back as you put in,sadhana bhakti ,the best is to chant a regular amont every day, and slowly chant more, whit 100% atention to the holy name i like to have a nice siting area whit lot of pictures of Krsna, Prabhupad,citanya etc. but also chanting as much as posible ,any time anyware, best to chant out loud ,mentaly is also good , the most offencive chanting is NO CHANTIG chant chant chant

Just keep repeating the Holy Names, including but not limited to the Maha-Mantra, however you feel inclined to at the time. Appreciating them personally, as if crying out to a real living person, is better than concern about technical considerations. Continue until you can see/feel a response for yourself. Radha and Krsna know better than us what we need and how to satisfy the ache in our hearts, so no need to ask for anything except maybe to get closer to Them. You will surely become addicted, like so many others have, and find yourself unable to stop chanting for very long. Best wishes!
