ancient_paztriot 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2004 Hridayananda… We have to give them a higher taste; prasadam and literature, festivals. The more we preach, the more we present festivals, prasadam and books, then by the mercy of Caitanya Mahaprabhu, they'll wake up. Otherwise, they'll use their intelligence for some destructive purpose. Just like: a child: If he doesn't have some good engagement, he'll simply go on till he begins to break everything. Isn't it? lover_soul 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Once I went through a phase, whenever I chanted my mind started having mental pictures of things breaking etc. Can this be related in some way to what you are saying?
ShegavichaRana 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2004 These doubts, dirty tendencies and accumulated bad habits are like poinous serpents hiding deep inside our minds. What happens when hot water is poured into the holes where, serpents are taking shelter? the serpents come out. Exactly, that is what happens when you chant the holy mantra. The pious vibrations of these mantras, make these age-old impressions to come out and go. One should consider this as a sign of the positive progress in the spiritual path and not shy away from chanting. So continue chanting more vigorously.
